Cheers for the feedback – I will look forward to the piccies too…
RadarModeratorToo subtle for me, and anyway it looks under-powered!!
RadarModeratorI think that using a sprocket in place of the crown wheel on the diff is a fairly common way of getting drive to axle shafts. As ID said alignment is cruicial and use heavy duty chain and sprocket. I would imagine the GSX1100O size would be OK.
Keep us informed about how you get on.RadarModeratorNot an expert on this, but I think it was because the engine was rubber mounted. Another great “Nortonism” – “Roadholder” forks
RadarModeratorThat is some collection Beefstew! Try under the Jap Stuff heading I have made a post about the CD185T I ran many years ago (1987/.
RadarModeratorIsn’t that where Kevin Keegan started his football career? Nuff said…
RadarModeratorOdd, anyway I remember the market well too. Frooze my cobs off many times being dragged around there! Always REALLY windy.
RadarModeratorWelcome Ninja. I hope you manage to rebuilt your YPVS OK. I had a 1985 Mk1 model and a 1989 F2 and they were both brilliant. Loved the 85 Mk1 in particular, the F2 wasn’t quite as edgy. Mate has just bought an 86 mk1 and let me have a go the other week. What a laugh. Really must get another one sometime. Have you seen the YPVS for sale in the buying/selling section?
try http://www.lcclub.info
and tell them about the forum too.
Hope you get the workshop sorted and keep us posted about the rebuild.
Did you used to have a GPZ?RadarModeratorI bet you are!
RadarModeratorSorry to hear that Wheelie, fixed site or mobile unit?
RadarModeratorAt least you have the credability of been done on a bike; I picked up my last 3 points in a diesel SKODA estate car!
RadarModeratorGoing back to the early 1980s when I lived in Brum one of the lads who was in my bike club had a GT750 fitted with expansion pipes and it sounded awesome. Put the hairs on the back of my neck on edge!!
RadarModeratorSounds like a great place…
RadarModeratorI have been to Snetterton many times and the bomb hole is, as Cookeye says, a corner around the remains of a bomb crater. It was a base used by American B-17 Flying Fortress bombers in WW2 and I think the bomb was actually American and not German. Either on a dump or from a crash landed plane coming back from a mission.
The racers you describe sound insane Cookeye – I almost wished I lived in Norfolk again so I could go on the 7th.RadarModeratorTo underestimate the power of a bacon sandwich is a dangerous thing..!
