    Heard lots of talk over the years about Norton and a featherbed frame. What’s that all about?

    Not an expert on this, but I think it was because the engine was rubber mounted. Another great “Nortonism” – “Roadholder” forks

    Fetherbed was a nick name that stuck!
    It came from one of the riders in the norton works team who first used the frame in testing,when asked wot was it like,he replyed it was like riding on a bed of fethers.
    now that comes from a mate that erns his living selling and raceing british bikes.
