Looking really good mate, great quality work there

i see what you mean about rotating the compresser to gain clearance but i do think you may still have an issue there as it seem the pipes stick out a little more than stock which can be mighty close to touching up on the guard anyway during full compression, the oil cooler could also be a problem depending on what you use & how you mount it

Dont want to but a downer on it at all mate just would rather say now on the off chance some of this hadn’t occured to you

Grips AND muffs AND decent gloves is the only way you will stay warm if you do runs of any distance

grips heat the gloves & the muffs stop the wind from taking the heat away, any one on its own wont work for any length of time

I do regular 120 mile runs each way in all weathers with this setup, no problems just have to find a way of keeping my toes warm now

    Aaaaagh Nooooooooooooooooooooo !

Imo thats the cheap cant be arsed look & one of my pet hates, the real original classy look will always be 4 & 1/2 bates on a nice ally bracket

The rest of the build looks good though & i can see you are going to have hours of fun setting up that lockup [:D]

    Just a general comment mate

Ive found theres plenty of good kit out there but the main problem for me is sizing, i’m skinny & 6′ tall with long arms & legs, so its always a problem to get a decent fit Eg undergarments always ride up on the arms & legs unless i buy bigger waist or chest than i need then they hang off me like a sack

it seems most clothing makers think if you are 6′ tall you must be 15 stone of gut & flab, its even worse for women from what ive seen of the girlie struggling so i was wondering if you were addressing these issues & those of the shortarse chubby folk ? [:D]

Right i started the topic so suppose i better contribute a little more to it, i’ll try & keep it civil but i’m finding that more & more difficult the more i learn about this group & their ideas [V]

Firstly i’ll say i dont want anyone to think these comments are racist as thats not the way i was bought up i really dont care about the colour of a mans skin or what religion he follows as long as he shows respect for the laws of the country & the unwritten laws of decent behaviour that most of us follow EDIT… (having written out the above paragraph i realise that my attitude is being changed by recent events)

Its a true & sad fact that in this country now we have a situation where hundreds of these fanatics are free to say what they please under the laws of free speech, while people such as myself & i guess most of you can not oppose them without the very real possibility arrest, court & even jail under laws against racism, ive almost been a victim of these laws in the past even though i said or did nothing of a racist nature

I truly believe that now is the time for more stringent laws to combat these people, how about convicting & even deporting for the “crime” of anti british behaviour ???

Maybe the above sounds daft to some of you but consider it for a moment…. many citys & towns have muslim only schools where kids from any other religion are not allowed to attend thats racism plain & simple, no state run school could get away with banning any faith

There are many other examples like this all around us & we ignore it but in my view its the breeding ground for religious fanatics who will further dilute the sense of being BRITISH every person holding a uk passport should feel regardless or race colour or creed

My honest feeling is that while people should be allowed to express their idea’s freely up to a point there is a line that must not be crossed, this group & others like it have most definately crossed the line & should be removed from my country asap

    Hey ben
no offence taken mate, you are building it to your tastes & doing a pretty fine job from what i can see so far, the seat unit looks good in profile, very slim & should leave a nice big gap between wheel & the underside of the seat which is a look i like

As others have said once its sitting on its wheels the look will change a fair bit & then you will be able to see what you’ve got so dont give up yet

I still think the length of the seat unit will be an issue for you as it will sick out a fair way behind the back wheel, again just my opinion & its not my bike so no offence taken if you disagree [:D]

Hi, someone got the wrong idea on what i posted previously, i dont like jacked up back ends on my bikes as i do lots of miles & need to stay comfortable, its the length & width i was posting about [:D]

This is the way i set up my own stuff, imagine a line running from the top of the tank towards the rear horizontal to the ground & the rear tip of the seat unit should not go above that, most stock bike are like this if you look

Making a set of ajustable dogbones allows you to alter the ride height at will [:D]

Just my opinion but the seat unit is too long for the bike & too wide for the tank, i like the seat unit to end at the rear spindle or there abouts & think the tank has to define the maximim width of the backend so things flow through

Having said that its your bike & if you’re happy thats what counts [:)]

Ah thanks sid not having a facebook account explains why i cant view the pics.

benji if you want to throw the engine throw it this way i could do with a spare :-) failing that once youve calmed down let me know what the problem with it is & i’ll let you know how to fix it

& you are right you dont get these problem with kwacks what you get with those is #2 piston gear making a break for freedom, either that or the gearbox crapping its pants under load

whats the engine number start with v7 or gu or gv ? whats the cc block say 1157 or 1127 ? theres others but they are the 750’s & 600’s
I still say its the stock b12 in there [:D]

bandit 12 are hivo chain gsxr are plain [;)] if you want a little more poke gsxr1100K (1989)cams are the ones t go for but you need to change the sprockets to b12 ones in a b12 engine, you can slot those in needs be but theres no point unless you go down the dot head route

    Hello mate

I cant browse through your facebook pics to see what you have so far for some reason (i’m computer illiterate)

if you can put up some sort of idea of what you intend to do with this one & what you’ve got i should be able to help you out with what fits what etc as ive been messing with gsxr’s & bandits for a hell of a long time

for example the gix cam sprockets wont fit the b12 camchain, plain chain as opposed to hivo chain, could have saved you a few quid there [^]

That does look to be the stock b12 engine btw so the miles are probably somewhere near right

    cheers slim
