Great to see you back Diablo! Have printed off your story to read and will feedback later.
I have a new job and this has left me little time for the forum at the moment.
Keep riding and posting!!RadarModeratorIn the mid 1980’s I used to go to the BMF member rally with a club called The Centaurs from Birmingham. Used to get largest club turnout if I recall correctly.
In 1990 I was running a club in Norfolk (The Fairweather Bikers) and we entered the moped race with a Puch Maxi. Good fun.
Used to work in Coalville until about a year ago, but have never the Vic, is that the big Tuesday meet? Hear it is pretty good.RadarModeratorThinking about going, but in the car as I am on the look out for riding gear for myself and the Mrs. Good place for bargains and hard to carry on the T Cat.
Welcome to the forumRadarModeratorLike Redgear said, good bikes. Easy on the CB100N – I loved mine!
RadarModeratorThere are still some bikes branded as a Laverda, but they don’t link in ownership or engineering terms to the legendary triples of the 1970’s and 80’s. They are Aprillia based.
The beautiful (if overpriced and under performing) twins of the mid to late 90’s are made any more to the best of my knowledge either.for details
RadarModeratorHi Marsha67 and welcome to the forum.
Check these:
1. Tyre wear. They might be legal but if quite worn this could affect the handling in the way you describe. My old FZ750 was very prone to this.
2. Are the tyres correctly matched front to rear (and set to the correct pressure), ie same brand and type.
3.Are the tyres the size specified in the handbook. Oversize tyres can give problems.
4. Bar end caps – are they still fitted and are they the standard ones? These are dampers with a specific weight matched to the bike.
5. Are you steering head bearings correctly tightened?
6. Do you have hard luggage or a rack fitted? be careful with your weight distribution.
7. Chain adjusters on the same mark both sides.
8. Old tyres – are they the original 1998 items? Thes might have “gone off”. That is the compound has lost its original properties. Small cracks in the side wall can indicate this.Hope this lot is of some help.
Welcome to the forum.
RadarModeratorHow about (don’t laugh…), a Triumph Thruxton?
Or maybe a two stroke, like an Aprillia RS250? That way you’d have an interesting counterpoint to the Duke and the SM.RadarModeratorSend me a map, your sense of direction seems fine to me!
Welcome to the forum.RadarModeratorI think doing this is called getting your Grey Wings…
RadarModeratorCheers for the update Scouser. See – Rossi just needed a Yamaha!!
RadarModeratorWelcome to the forum and an interesting combination of bikes that you have there, a mate used to run an Africa Twin and firestorm a feyears back. Look forward to hearing about your biking this summer…
RadarModeratorTry something like a Kawasaki GPZ500 for a summer then progress to a full on sports bike like an R6. It will help you raise your experience gradually.

I’ve donated to the forum, have you?Its just none of the bikers I know seem to be into Speedway: Moto GP, WSB, BSB, Trails etc etc, but not speedway and I thought it a bit odd. I used to go and watch the BRMB Brummies (as they were then!!) back in the 1970’s when i was a kid.
RadarModeratorCheers for that Razor, welcome to the Forum. Please let us all know what the snags were.
The roads and riding sounded top notch. I have driven a car in Spain, but never ridden.
What speeds did you travel at, warp drive or did you take in the surroundings? Did you camp or use hotels etc.?RadarModeratorLike you site RC31, you clearly love your bike. Am I being thick or did the NTV650 share quite a bit with the RC31? This was probably on your site, but I read quickly as I should be decorating right now!
