    I’m just back from Italy where there are beautiful 20 year old girls in swimsuits and sarongs riding as fast as they can on their scooters, weaving in and out of the traffic, with open-face helmets on but not done up (more fashionable that way). Luckily I am a first aider and I was always ready to give the kiss of life to the first one who fell off…..[:X]

    Seriously though, someone needs to tighten up the laws out there.

    Thanks. Can’t justify putting lots of adverts and rubbish on the site as it needs people to want to come back and participate. It’s a site intended for bikers to enjoy, not a money-making thing. I’m also open to suggestions on content and format. Only thing holding the site back at the moment is advertising, so if you can pass the word on then we’ll do it without incurring costs and everyone will be happy. They are a good bunch on here as you’ll find out!

    How much for the practice track Cookeye? You can tell him he’s free to advertise his track on the forum if he wants in the meetings section. Prices and opening times would be good info.

    It was lake Garda in the North of Italy (by Verona) and it was well hot, 40 degrees on some days. We’re back now and want to do it all again! Dissapointing amount of bikers for such a great bit of countryside. Twisty roads, no speed cameras, sunshine, what more could you want? They’ve even got good food!!

    Just got a few minutes left in a cybercafe to say hi. Just got married in France and am on honeymoon in Italy. Great biking roads!

    See ya later guys.

    That’s one frazzled tyre m8. Seems like you went for it (or was it those burn-outs in the car park?).

    Is the racing gonna cost much? Maybe you can give us a rough idea of what a season’s racing costs.

    @Radar

    Ah yes, the Tomos bikes from Woolies. I remember them with no affection whatsoever. Horrible little things.

    Now you’re asking. France, Germany, Luxembourg (rode through it in about 10 minutes), Belgium, Holland, Southern Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia (as it was before the bullets), Spain. I reckon Northern Spain has some of the best biking roads but each of the other countries have some real crackers too. Ireland had the worst roads by far. I guess they’ve exported their best tarmac guys…..

    I miss the bike holidays now, it definitely ain’t the same in a car. My advice to anyone out there is to do some bike touring before you get kids, ’cause lovable as they are, they really scupper this type of holiday.

    Oh and the bike was mainly my Kwak GPZ900R but also a GPZ750 in the early days.

    Think I’ll have my two penneth on this one. I used to have a touring holiday of about 2-3000 miles in Europe every year for about 15 years. Sometimes the temperature was well over 30 degrees and you could be stuck in traffic in a city with your leathers on and the bike fan blowing hot air onto your already sweaty knackers. Now I think that if I hadn’t taken off my layers I could have collapsed through heat exhaustion. With gloves on, your hands get so hot that they start to lose control and you make daft mistakes. I can’t condone it in high speed riding as the wind cools you to a large extent (and your injuries would be worse), but slow speed in traffic I think is OK. Bear in mind you could be more dangerous to yourself and others when you have no control of your bike.

    I often wore shorts and sandals (and no I didn’t wear socks!) for short distances but you’ve gotta watch that exhaust pipe!

    Welcome Chris. Can you tell us what BHP is the Hornet? We have a difference of opinion here.

    What’s your game Cookeye? Apart from professional bike tester that is.
