Radar mentioned the 8 days of holiday needed to use the ferry.
Really not very keen on riding all through France and back.
Trouble is, I’m not keen on missing out on Les Pyrennes either!

I will have a little think and throw some other options into the pot for pondering.

One way on the Boat maybe? – Fly / Ride? – Put bikes in Van  – Different boat return, etc etc

On the bright side – it sounds like we need another curry to talk it over :-)

Radar, you have blessed us with an excellent acount of the weekend catching the atmosphere and banter nicely.
Great pictures too from the conbributors.  Thanks to all for the good humour that made it memorable.

As for the TT Assen circuit  – it will always stand for “Topbox Tantrum” to me from now on :)

    Corbin Blimey chaps ;-)
That is funny….BMW resale values don’t lie eh!

Question for me is whether my R1200GS is better than my last bike…
    My Triumph Bonerville.

As for my bike gear…Alpinestars or Pornstars that’s the next decision.

    Some bikes=Nescafe Gold Blend
    2 strokes=double expresso

A lovely whizz in the countryside, and funnily enough, the cafe bought me a full English by mistake too!
We all enjoyed the bike swaps – (we were all properly insured by the way)
All the bikes were very dfferent and all fantastic at different things!

Bring it on again eh chaps?

    All fine above.
Champs, I just looked at the ‘offers’ section and managed to get a quote of £51.
I think the standard ticket was showing £76.

Lovin’ the GS, and it really performed well on our jaunt to Normany recently – I could have ridden all day.
The Truimph Tiger 900 I had previously highlighted how good these types of bikes are, better for mile munching than the FJ1100 I used to own. The Triumph had a less powerful (80 vs.105HP) engine but so much more characterful note and feel. The Tiger was more challenged on the brakes and forks with too much dive when husstling, but I loved it.
The BMW also is slightly sensible for me – I tried to be a rebble an fitted a ‘straight through’ exhaust – only to find the sound was really quite respectable due to the catalyst!

The Truimph 1200 is eagerly awaited – Wounld the Tiger 800 with a shaft would get a few more sales too?

The GS really grows on you though – it takes a while to understand it – but I’m full of praise now.

PS – Looking at the picture – who is that little fella on the bike?
