still can’t find the problem… Have replaced the thermostat and checked that the sensor is working. Started him up and again after around ten mins the engine seemed to be struggling a bit and then stalled. Temp gauge was normal. wouldn’t start up again until cool. I have had the carbs off the other month 4 or 5 times but can’t think if that has made the problem…

Well… I’ve flushed the system, checked the carb cooling filter and the check filter, refilled with coolant and it still is over heating. Think i might have the rad off next.
Thanks Imperialdata for your comment. My trusty Haynes manual doesn’t suggest bleeding and i can’t see any points to do so. Still after around ten mins or so the engine get very hot and then starts to play up and stalls with the fan running for 2 or 3 mins………………

I assume that the difference between 110 and 120 is a 10mm profile on the tyre… That surely would be quite noticable esp on a front wheel due to the pivot of it. On the rear it wouldn’t matter as much cos it is fixed. Thanks TT for your comment. Cornering though feels as though i have a flat on the front and if you think about it cos the front has a bigger circumference then it has to some how when cornering get that extra 10mm back, which is why i think it struggles………………….

Well it’s like this… I have had a new front tyre fitted (a 120/80/16 replaving a 130/80/16) I have taken it out for as ride and noticed that there is no swerving at high speed but at low speed there is a problem cornering (seems to not want to turn smoothly). Looking at most of the websites the correct spec for my front is 110/80/16 for the front. Think I might be taking my bike back in yet again…

Sorted…Took me bike back to the bike shop. They’d only fitted an incorrect sized front tyre. Having it replaced next week.
Thanks for all your suggestions. Tony

Still not fixed. Went to work on it today and it sounded like a bleeding taxi…There is one thing I have noticed however. When i start him up with the choke on there is a few ‘pops’ coming out of one of the exhausts. Any ideas ? Thanks for all your suggestions up to now chaps. i will take the carbs off again and completely strip down soon – Tony
