Yes I have the Trax Evo panniers and bought some bags off ebay, which are not the correct ones but worked more than well enough Made going in and out of hotels so much easier, also the packing and unpacking was so easy!
My two pannier bags are the correct ones (easy life!), but the top-box bag is too big – looks like another pannier bag: time to get out the scalpel, needle & strong cotton, methinks…..
elessimoParticipantLooks a lovely few days, and that really doesn’t look like a TDM! I actually have the same panniers and used them for the first time last week on our Germany trip, they were superb
Your Germany trip looked excellent!
Trax? Good panniers – love the inner bags: great for taking into the hotel/B&B/tent. And top opening too….
And black.elessimoParticipantGreat ride and a great read…but where is the TDM???!!! Have you been treating yourself???
Got myself a Tiger….
Currently 4 cars & 2 bikes – the place is a bit cluttered…. Anyone want a cheap Jag and well-priced TDM900? :

elessimoParticipantAre you planning to go to the one in Upton on June 1st?
I was getting sunburnt in the Lake District so couldn’t make that one.
My TDM is currently undergoing a bit of work – I’m doing the rain-proofing mod (self-amalgamating tape plus cable-ties) and re-painting the pannier frame, so most of the panels are off – in preparation for selling it, though after the dis-assembly I then went away for a week and caught man-flu :
So I’m just waiting until I don’t feel like shit to continue…elessimoParticipantTopical?
Lord Nelson would have ridden a Victory-engined trike….
elessimoParticipantGreat photos and report; Bristol is fantastic for live music – especially Thekla, the big boat.
elessimoParticipantSomehow missed this great write-up Steve. I’m loving the Z1000, Cotton and Matchless.
Those bikes would all sit nicely in the garage (if it was big enough and if I had the money etc. etc.).
Dave, both the Cotton & Matchless are quite small…. and so tempting!
elessimoParticipantCouldn’t make the meet tonight, but I bet there was cracking weather for it!
Hope to make a least a couple of these over the summer
I turn up at 6pm straight from work (don’t believe the 7pm advertised time) then tootle off at about half an hour before sunset (so 8pm now, then a bit later each week). You get to see some good ironwork….
Last night I didn’t even get out of work until pushing 6. By the time I had driven home it was gone 7, so it would of been gone 8pm before i got there. I saw some of Ollies pics on FB. Looked a cracker
That’s why I come straight from work – I couldn’t get home to the Forest then back out again….

elessimoParticipantNext year will be good too, Radar….
As I said to Debs, if I’d bought that CCM I’d have been loving the Somme – the TDM is a bit of a whale on soft mud….
You and Thumper would have particularly liked the Carling-fuelled rocket-powered shopping trolley and the monowheels, which all ran the hill. My favourites were the little Cotton and the Matchless scrambler – there’s just something about those knobbly tyres on old iron that floats my boat.
elessimoParticipantSo we returned to the bar (still no queue – what timing!) and then went bike browsing….
Kwacker
Lovely little Cotton
Tritons abound
Ducati cafe racer
Rudge
Matchless – I want it!
Indian
Cossack!
Cossack diet…
Laverda Montjuic
Triumph
5 cylinders better than 3…
Viper 8,000cc 10-cylinder
Matchless stuff
Clouds
Spud
Jed and Wendy after the mudbathIt only took a couple of minutes to get out of the Somme – it had mostly dried out. I did manage to ride straight into a big swamp but a couple of marshals guided me through when I got stuck and then it was 2500rpm in second, weaving up to the concrete.
Left the gang and took the Ledbury route back to the Forest: what a fantastic day!
elessimoParticipantLooks like we have Thumper, Toggs and one or too others joining me for the ride there. Should be meeting up with Elissimo and Katana in there. Hope the weather holds
And Olly and Jed – we’ll need to take over a bar…..
elessimoParticipantGet there and text/call me, Radar.
Failing that, rendezvous at the start line at 12 noon?
elessimoParticipantI do this with my bike all the time…
Yeah, but not intentionally….
