Well taking test rides can be a hazardous business. I have enjoyed a few test rides over the last few years on a wide variety of impressive bikes, but only one has stopped me dead and forced me to put a trembling pen to a finance deal….a blast on a 2012 MV Agusta 1090 Brutale RR from Ed Cosker Superbikes near Bromyard in lovely Herefordshire. Fast forward a few weeks and say hello to the new pride of the Radar fleet, my 2014 MV Agusta 1090 Brutale RR….
The beast itself…
So which one is the ‘goes like f@@k’ setting Ed?
I bloody hope so!
Big smile ready for the off…I really enjoyed the rather steady 25 miles ride home despite the roads being damp, leaf strewn and bumpy.
The MV has already had a clean and I can’t wait for spring to stretch it’s legs properlyQuick thanyou to my old mate Andy aka Red Leader who give me a lift to pick up the beastie.
The test ride of the 2012 model that got me…

It will be interested to see how the MV situation pans out, I have 3,000 mile until an oil change is due. I have done 200 miles in 6 months, so roughly 7 years at the current rate!
October 16, 2016 at 8:58 pm #68844RadarModeratorOne of the owners on the MV FB page have made themselves this rather smart rack, fits in the place of the passenger seat
November 15, 2016 at 9:11 pm #68845RadarModeratorInitially I think I was a little in awe of the new machine and was almost nervous to ride it…odd but true. This was slightly compounded by the seat height being more than I remembered from my initial test ride. Add in some family issues meaning that many weekends were taken up for the first 7 months of the year. A mediocre summer didn’t help when I did have time the weather was poor.
My big event was to be a trip to Germany, but in the end I took my old 600 Thundercat over as we touring this time rather than using a single point as a base. This meant I would have had to keep loading up a bike everyday that is pretty fiddly to get luggage on..my 600 has a Givi set up and takes tank bags etc with ease.
All excuses? Maybe…
Add to the mix the news about the financial state of MV and how available support would be for my bike going forward, and my MV ‘Mojo’ was just evaporating….I even came close to selling a couple of months ago.
However every time I ride the bike the power, the look and handling are all intoxicating…so here is to a better 2nd year of ownership!

Still got it and using it a bit more regularly now…no problems so far, but still only has 2000 miles on it
