The little Trumpet I always thought to be one of the most underrated bikes I’ve ever ridden, the naked version is a real hoot too!
The Speed-Four is super rare, only ever seen a couple. I understand a fire at the factory badly impacted on the production of that model in particular
RadarModeratorYep, I would be up for that
RadarModeratorI was going to wonder out today but had family visiting. Took them up to my local bikers cafe for a salad…
Glad to see somebody out!
RadarModeratorLooks better with it tighter to the tyre for sure!
Look like you have been inspiring people…
RadarModeratorIt is a bit of a horror story, almost one for Watchdog. You would expect more from the RAC
RadarModeratorI have to say they look the business, perhaps the best change so far for me
December 2, 2016 at 10:28 am in reply to: Kawasaki ZR550 – Do I buy a new exhaust and other adventures #69238RadarModeratorWell mOT passed and I have been out a couple of times since, but when I parked it up last time I noticed a strong whiff of fuel. Sure enough there is what appears to be a sticky float or something wrong with one of the carbs. So I have popped into a local bike shop I am friendly with for them to remove, clean, re-fit and balance them. Should improve the riding experience a bit.
It did have a slight misfire. I had just fitted new plugs bought at a good price from ebay. I was suspicious…so I bought a fresh set from my local dealer and fitted them last night. The bike ran much better this morning on the way to the shop. Lesson learnt methinks!
RadarModeratorMudguard sits very high, it is more noticeable now it is shortened:
Dropping it 15mm will still leave quite a bit of clearance all the while I stay off the green lanes!
The height is a bit more obvious in that shot. Can you gey a local engineering shop to machine the mounting boss on the mudguard?
Cheers for the links

November 29, 2016 at 10:29 pm in reply to: Motorcycle Live the NEC Bike Show 2016- Piccies etc #69486RadarModeratorThat Himalayan looks like an adventure bike you could actually have an adventure on…when are you riding it and where? I would love to blag a go too at some point.
In the meantime I will look forward to your review!
Hmmm – the dealer I had lined up in Stroud has just ditched RE to concentrate on Beemers
Have you tried this lot
Watsonian Squire
Unit 70, Northwick Business Centre, Blockley, Moreton-in-Marsh, Glos GL56 9RF, UK
Tel: 01386 700907 Company No: 02319399RadarModeratorGood to see the project continuing!
I am surprised you want to bring the mudguard closer to the tyre, it already looks quite close
Would you have links to where you got the bits like the headlamp and mini mirrors etc from?
RadarModeratorThat is brilliant!
November 29, 2016 at 8:11 pm in reply to: Motorcycle Live the NEC Bike Show 2016- Piccies etc #69484RadarModeratorI also tried the Multistrada..for the future of course!! However I found the seat far too wide..really dug into my thighs when I had my feet on the ground…..
The salesman said you can get an after market Touratech one that’s a fair bit slimmer…but why should I have to??
Fair point they are an expensive bike (as so many are now). A friend of mine has just traded in his Panigale for one and so far he seems to be enjoying it
November 29, 2016 at 8:09 pm in reply to: Motorcycle Live the NEC Bike Show 2016- Piccies etc #69483RadarModeratorGreat write-up Radar!
Jed and I went on Thursday trying to get a couple of calendars, but ended up with a Powerbronze hugger each (and I ordered a Beowulf can for the Tiger ). No calendars though!
You didn’t mention the Royal Enfield Himalayan – their 410cc adventure bike that they’ve got Euro4 compliant and intend importing around spring-time. I’ve got a test-ride lined up…
RE HimalayanThat Himalayan looks like an adventure bike you could actually have an adventure on…when are you riding it and where? I would love to blag a go too at some point.

RadarModeratorSome good outing there and no mistake
That does seem odd with MotoGP and the BSB
Still working on my plans, but hope to get to Ireland
