If you’ve got the tent up properly, the bikes in there with you, use the headlight!!!

A piece of reasonably thick steel (1/8 or so) cut out with a 4″ holesaw (or jigsaw) and kept under the seat is ideal for when you park in a muddy field to put under the sidestand to save the bike falling over – also saves you ripping the number plate off and using that….

Fraid not, thanks for trying. The 250 rs is a single, and although that bit doesnt really matter the drawing above has points – its the cdi wiring that im struggling with, for some reason there are more wires than it seems it needs! Theres 2 multiplugs on it, one goes to the pickups as you’d expect and the other goes to the coil/kill switch – again as youd expect but theres a bunch of other wires there too that i havent a clue what they do, the original loom has loads of tape and burnt wire on it so no chance of identifying it by colour coding…

if its a steel stud in an ally hole (most likely) theres no need, just weld on the nut and let it cool – the expansion of the stud in the hole when you weld it will break it free of the corrosion thats holding it in, and you will be able to just wind it out.

put a nut over the stud, weld it on and turn it out when its cooled down – the heat from welding it will expand it in the hole and free it off…

cut the 2 pipes off before they hit the collector box, point one out one side and the other out tother side. You aint gonna get much cheaper than this.

BTW – £500 for an exhaust is well pricy, figure out what you want in an exhaust, shapes length etc, ring up some stainless supply company and buy the pieces of pipe (you’ll probably get these as offcuts), bends etc – you’ll get them for about £50-£100 all in (without discount!), and either get a mate who can weld, or a local engineering company to tig it all together for you.

It does say that they are cracking down on people riding illegaly, if you are greenlaning on a legal vehicle then theres SFA they can do, as for the illegals, they are whats getting everyone else a bad name so fairs fair…….

The restriction is not all year round either, and it seems like a reasonable restriction to avoid turning the whole lot into a mudpool…

The rat looks pretty good, and the black visors are available for it – although youd be better off shelling out for a simpson, you’ll only regret it if you dont!
