What do men and paving slabs have in common?
Lay them right first time and you can walk over them for the rest of your life!

ChristinaParticipantPS.
I discovered when I went to get the new cylinder head gasket that the engine in the bike is actually an NS125F not an NS125R as I thought.
I think the guy I bought it from saw me coming a mile off.
I’m going to do another plug chop this evening now that it’s back on the road and see if anything comes up.
I also have noticed that there is sometimes a loud hissing noise from the end of the exhaust when I try to start the bike. Don’t know if this might be related to the other problems.ChristinaParticipantHi guys, I still need help (and so does my bike).
I changed the dodgy seal and the bike ran a bit better but still not right. Then the cylinder head gasket went. I changed that last weekend. I’ve been off the road since because the bike spat petrol in my eye while I was disconnecting the petrol tank (it’s evil) and I’ve been off work with a patch on it all week. The bike seemed even better with the new gasket (changed the exhaust and reed valve gaskets as well seeing as I had them anyway) but there was a problem with the kickstart which was getting worse. Discovered badly worn gear and ratchet which I replaced. Once I got it back on the road it was very sluggish but the carb was adjusted to compensate for all the leaks before so I adjusted it back and it is running better now than ever. I’m still having a couple of minor problems that I thought would have improved after all that but they haven’t.
The bike keeps dying for a split second. It only happens over 55mph though and it’s only been happening since I put the bike in to have the ignition system changed.
Also, it’s still not ticking over properly although it is very close and I’m still having a little trouble starting it. (It used to tick over perfectly and start first kick every time)
Can anyone help?ChristinaParticipantJesus!!
I thought it was bad when some mad old woman gave me abuse in a petrol station for leaving my bike at the pump (in her way) while I paid for the petrol even though she couldn’t use the pump until I’d paid and there were two other empty ones. Some people just have it in for bikers. I’d hate to be that sad and pathetic.
The worst thing I think is that it usually comes out of the blue and you are so gob smacked that you don’t react till it’s too late and then kick yourself for not having done/said something about it.[!]ChristinaParticipantVirgin.

ChristinaParticipantThe requirements for brakes depend on the weight of the trailer. You should find everything you need at the department for transport website with this link.

ChristinaParticipantI also hate people who stop just the other side of a tight blind bend on a 60mph road for no apparent reason.
I met one of them on the way home yesterday evening. Had to break really hard.
PS. Yes, I do know I shouldn’t have been going so fast round a blind bend but that’s no excuse.[xx(]ChristinaParticipantI hate all the old Irish farmers who are too tight to buy a new tractor and drive (at about 10mph)their ancient, decrepit, diesel-spilling, smoke-spewing monstrosities on all the twisty country roads and leave trails of slippy mud to mix in nicely with the diesel on all the bends. [!]
ChristinaParticipantI agree. I don’t have a lot of experience with the bigger bikes but the bikes I have are both two stroke 125 racing bikes of similar age so they give a fair comparison and the Yamaha is streaks ahead of the Honda even without the power valve.
ChristinaParticipantWhy are men like blenders?
You need one, but you’re not quite sure why. []
ChristinaParticipantI hope no-one was reading that before their breakfast. [V]
