Result of petition, No 10 says a targeted approach is currently the option they will look at :-
Read the Government’s response
Thank you for your e-petition.The Government is not proposing to reduce the national speed limit.
On 21st April the Government published a consultation on the new road safety strategy: A Safer Way: Consultation on Making Britain’s roads the Safest in the World, which closed on 14 July. It sought views on the vision, targets and measures for improving road safety in Great Britain in the period from 2010.
Regarding single carriageway roads where the national speed limit applies, the Government propose to revise our existing guidance to highway authorities, recommending that lower limits are adopted where risks are relatively high and there is evidence that a lower limit would reduce casualties.
The Government believes that this targeted approach is the best way to ensure that speed limits are set at the appropriate level for each road.
The Government will announce the results of the consultation at the end of the year.
TT07Participant[]I was expecting you to have a Yorkshire accent, and I thought you said you where way over 6 foot[:p]
TT07ParticipantYes thanks for a great report Radar. Maybe I will get go one of these years.
TT07ParticipantI take it you mean a tubed tyre with a tube as well. In the early days it was possible, Honda Comstar wheels would take tubed or tubeless tyres, but you had to have a brass fitting that went into the hole for the tubleless valve as that hole size is larger than for tube type wheels. To be honest I dont know if it possible with anything other than comstars.

Rather than post anything further as we don’t really like to labour on the subject of accidents, here is a link to the local papers report :-

TT07ParticipantYes I was wondering about the colour too, then noticed the graphic SNAPON on the fairing and wondered if its a limited edition. Very striking colour and very nice it is too. That number plate fits you to a T. As the GPz matched the Smart, would the ZXR match the bathroom suite by any chance? If so any chance of some pics ?!
TT07ParticipantAm interested in a Cat C as my Daughters chap is in the second hand car trade and as far as repairs go he’s got the right contacts. He was asked if HE wanted a repaired ?*!?*!?* to sell on, so I could get one at the right price (for me), I’ve missed one but they are coming through all of the time. Am I right in believing that to insure a Cat C is fine but in the unfortunate event of a claim then Companies are loath to pay out as the insured machine has already taken a “hit”.
As far as asking anything on the GSXR1000 goes fire away, your secrets safe with me, and Gix who contributes on this Forum also has a GSXR1000, an 02 model if my memory serves me well.TT07ParticipantYes agree, not funny at all. I MIGHT be seeking a Cat C soon, not saying what just yet though!
TT07ParticipantYup, the P40 flying tiger was my favourite airfix kit.

TT07Participant[]My My Gix what do you mean!![] Had a dawdle over to the coast last week two up, yep she’s still doing 50 plus MPG when I behave myself.
TT07ParticipantOh nuts! Hope theres no lasting damage, things like this tend to stick in your mind for a long time, one of those “if only” moments and WE ALL have them at times!
TT07ParticipantSorry Ben I’m not available all day on the 11th plus tis rather a jaunt from Worcestershire.
TT07ParticipantI didn’t realise that the place was open to the public for us to look around, I will have to take a trip there too. No chance of a speed test on the runway eh!
