Good to have you in the forum Jimner, look forward to reading about your opinions and experiences on your bike. Like Imp Dat said, good bike, sounds like fun.

RadarModeratorEinstein,
I think the dodgy electrics was a 70s/80s Suzuki thing, my 82 GS550E I had in 87/88 suffered from this too.
Rode 3 GS250T over the years, the “custom” variant of the GSX and quite liked them all. Also rode a rare late GSX250 with Katana type styling. Better than a Superdream, but no LC!Biking is relatively on the move
RadarModeratorScouser,
Hope you had a good day at the show, should be there next Sunday when it is packed – can’t all get trade passes you know!
Was it any good?
Did you take a look at the 2.3 Triumph?
Has McGinn bought another RS250 yet?“Still got those, can’t get enough of those, line 10 blues”
Tell Eurpoe about the forum!!
RadarModeratorFair point Scouser.
Thanks for the info on Colin Edwards tooRadarModeratorOpps!
A mate of mine came calling on his newly acquired Honda VFR750 in full HRC colours and parked it on my drive. Nest thing the bike just kieled over on its own! Fairing smashed as ther indicator punched through it – expensive. Wouldn’y let me pay (rats!?).RadarModeratorDespite a colourful couple of years in 84/85 (see “Six of the Best”), somehow I have never broken anything.
Hope I am not going to regret saying that!
Was the GSX OK?RadarModeratorID,
They are made in the UK by a small family business that is (I think) based in Yorkshire. Just gone over to using Japanese engines. Look serious amounts of fun.RadarModeratorImp Dat,
The BULTACO that you are thinking of is the Sherpa, not Sherco. Fancy naming a bike after a 1970’s Leyland van!
RadarModeratorHe actually sold it a few weeks ago and I forgot to post about it! But he is not happy at all [], poor bloke really misses it. Still has two classics he is (alledgely) rebuilding to keep him happy[].
RadarModeratorCookeye,
I know the show you mean now. my brother in law went this year. As for the bikes I wanted at 16/17 (1981/2) were stuff like the LC Yams and bike GPZ Kwacks. At 18 I got a 250LC which was ace and then followed up with a YPVS. Even better.RadarModeratorKnow what you mean Cookeye! I should really sell my CB250RS as I hardly use it, but can’t brng myself to do it! I have two classic cars as well and when I want to go out on the bike i have to move the lot! I was tempted by a YPVS in the MCN last week but until I cant get a long term job (my current contract expires soon) I dare not buy another bike. Wifey wants some work doing on the house too, so dreams of antoher Yam to go alonside the T cat will have to wait!
Good price for the SRX, what show were you at?RadarModeratorHi Speed,
Welcome to the forum, hope to hear about your bikes more in the future. What is a Cobra ZS150? I have not heard of it! Sorry.[?][?][?][:0]
RadarModeratorHi Tracie,
Welcome to the forum, good to have a new contributor. I saw your plea and dragged out a copy of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics (June 2003). A couple of classic Suzuki specialists:

RadarModeratorGlad to see that you have been enjoying yourself Cookeye. Pleased that Julie’s Duke has found a new home so easily, I am trying to sell my Triumph Herald at the moment and can’t find any buyers anywhere. Good little motor too!!
My mine biking fun came last night when my mate who has just bought a Mk1 RD350 YPVS let me take it for a blast (He was the lad looking for a 350 I posted about a couple of weeks back). Kin brilliant, remember why I love them so much. Rode like an idiot for 15 mins. Wot a buzz!!
Never had a CBR600 but have ridden a couple of them down the years and been impressed – I took Lings of Watton demo bike out for a right good thrashing way back in 1987 and saw 135 on the clock past the army barracks near there. Several mates have owned a variety of models and a good mate currently has a 98 German spec one. He is having some problems with the charging system and has dropped it once. But still pleased with it after 25,000 miles or so. What year is yours?
I have just heard of a GPz500 going for a good price, it has been laid up for a while. Like you, if I buy I will MOT it and try to move it on quickly.
What do you think of e-bay?
RadarModeratorSounds fantastic, I have never been to Austria so give us more details!
