    OUCH! Nasty pics but a good advert for a good helmet. What is the ‘median’ you say you crashed into?

    Howdy back to you, Diablo. First time we’ve ever had a cowboy greeting from an Indian!

    Welcome to the forum and besides a few lousy jokes (mostly on my part) they’re a great bunch on here, as Ange rightly pointed out. We’re really interested to find out what biking is like over there, our media often gives us a bad impression of the roads and driving in India. Could you give us a quick summary to set the record straight?

    I have driven past this juction both ways a lot recently from Brum to Bolton, Bury etc. I remember seeing lots of cameras around this junction, notably on gantries and around the coned off areas where the speed limit is 50mph (I think). Remember the digital ones have little yellow tarpaulins behind them to ‘highlight’ them.

    Just did a search for Rajdoot and found this site. Some nice pics from enthusiasts on there.

    Spot on Katana. A diode does all of the above. A Zener diode is slightly different, don’t confuse the two but most bikes have normal diodes fitted.

    On bike wiring they are often used to stop current flowing in a certain direction and can often be fitted when adding to circuits. For an example of a practical use, if fitting an aftermarket alarm you could wire the output from the alarm module to your bike’s horn. The oil pressure light could come on at the same time as the horn because they share the same wires. To stop the current from flowing to the oil pressure light, you would use a diode. This enables both circuits to function as before.

    Fitted a C70 barrel and piston to my SS50. Thought I would get 2 fifths more power – WRONG! I guess that’s the naive logic of a 16 year old who desperately wants to overtake buses.

    Would that make it a Fiat due?

    (Due = 2 for those who don’t speak Italian!)

    Crap when you have to explain your gags…..

    I take it that’s the old air-cooled 350 they make in India, not the LC?

    @Judokwai:
    New technical section up and running. You are welcome to post messages for any help required on your project. Perhaps you can help others too having had previous bike building experience.

    Would love to have seen the CCM story. Business lunch is the only daytime program I could cope with I’m afraid. Usually they are quite positive about any home brewed industry but still CCM deserves more coverage than 10 minutes of non-primetime tv.

    My GPZ900R has still done more miles abroad than in this country. You just can’t beat a camping holiday on a motorbike with sun, sea, sand and….. well…..sprockets!

    Actually, I prefer the mountains and the twisty roads around them, but had to get the sprocket gag in.

    Favourite biking roads have to be those in Northern Spain and after that maybe Ardeche in the South of France.
