OUCH! Nasty pics but a good advert for a good helmet. What is the ‘median’ you say you crashed into?

I think its the central reservation between the opposite lanes.

Glad to see your OK Diablo as it must be tempting not to wear protective clothing in the heat over there?

Scouser you are right, it’s the central reservation between the two opposite lanes. Mostly its made of concrete.

its a bit hard not to wear the gear all the time. However, after wearing the protection, and especially after the crash, I fell naked if I am not wearing my jacket and helmet. Helmet is a must, and I wear it even if I have to go just half a block away. ( Helmets are not mandatory in most of the places here!)

Never leave the house without my crash hat. Saved me a few times too, makes you think.

Welcome 666beast. Wot do u ride? There is a members bike section for your bike history.
I am pleased that Diablo and yourself both wear helmets even though it is not compulsory in your countries. Do you both ride with your headlights on all of the time for grater visibility to other road users?

See my post under members bikes. Yes I ride with my light on but not in certain states as the police will pull you over in the daytime just for that. I am one of a handful of Harley riders who wear a full face helmet. Looks a bit strange cause it’s a motocross helmet but hey, I feel safe!

By the way, it’s nearly 5:30 in the morning on a Saturday here and I’m just off to go and thrash my old trail bike through a local wood with some friends. Should be a great day

I ride with the headlights on while on trips. Not in the city. There is no penalty for riding with lights on, but mostly the people on the road will drive you crazy indicating that your headlight is on !!! Used to irritate me no amount in the beginning, but now I take it as a signal that the light bulb has not fused []

666, hope you enjoyed the ride in the woods !

Can’t remember the last time I got up that early to ride my bike. I must be getting old.
