You must have had a great time there. I thought everyone rode at 55 MPH!
PS Have you taken a peek at the Hayabusa video on this site?
imperialdataKeymasterAgreed. It is one of the most beautiful places and the roads are just fantastic. Ardeche is my favourite region in France I think.
imperialdataKeymasterI’m getting hooked by these Supermotos. They’re great all-rounders and can give more fun than sportsbikes, especially as the speed limits close in and more speed cameras get added. The husky sounds nice, any pictures?
PS There is a Supermoto/Off road section of the forum, drop us some info in there if you like.
imperialdataKeymasterDid you rent a bike for the California roads?
imperialdataKeymasterHi NSX, welcome to the forum. Is your GS a shaftie?
As for your falling off, I can only think that you may have left a (very long) bungee tied between your waist and the garage door…..
imperialdataKeymasterStill trying out a few things but you’re absolutely right, Supermoto or trailie must go in there. Cookeye, mind if I pinch a pic of your bike?
imperialdataKeymasterHe,he, he, good one!
imperialdataKeymasterOn many bikes for a spark to happen, and indeed for the starter to turn over, you need the plus 12 volts (from the battery positive terminal) to go to the starter and the zero volts (from the battery negative terminal) to go to the metallic casing of the starter, usually via the engine casing. If there is a bad connection between engine and earth then it won’t work UNLESS there is a separate earth wire from the electrical system to the starter. On the CBR600 I don’t know without looking at an electrical diagram. If the regulator looks a bit naff then I would test that. A multimeter will tell you what charge the battery is getting when the engine is running. Try putting it on DC Volts and select the range (if required). Put the probes across the battery and you should get between 13 and 15 Volts. Anything less than 13 and there is cause for suspecting the regulator/rectifier circuitry. The battery should read 12 Volts only when the bike is not running.

I’ve seen Honda regulators pass through Ebay a few times, worth a look for a second hand one.
imperialdataKeymasterOh and welcome to the forum, got carried away with the troubleshooting!
imperialdataKeymasterClicking noise is usually when the starter solenoid engages. If nothing follows then you have either a dodgy connection (usually at the battery end), a faulty starter, low battery voltage/current, engine not earthed properly (often the cause) or dirty electrical connections. If your battery is getting low quickly then you could have a regulator fault. If visual checks are OK then you need to test electrically. Any good with a multimeter?
imperialdataKeymasterAgreed Radar, the Yam is gorgeous. If it was me I’d probably go for the ZX1200R then the XJR1300 but then I’m a big Yammie/Kwak man at heart. The Bandit is a great bike too, I guess it all comes down to personal preference. And like Radar, I’ve never owned one of the three, just want to put in my two-penneth.
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it. Let us know your choice (and whether she who must be ignored was listened to at any stage in the decision making process!)[]
Must get some ‘under the thumb’ smilies…..
imperialdataKeymasterThey have them every few months, will let you know if another comes up soon.
imperialdataKeymasterAre the strips really buried or are they visible like the traffic counting strips? I’ve always wondered how it can tell which is your vehicle that triggers the first strip and not the rear wheel of another vehicle in front of you that obviously reaches the second strip more quickly.
imperialdataKeymasterWill your list be dynamic, ie updated when they change location?
imperialdataKeymasterSo if the transport minister removes cameras which have an accident record linked to speeding, does that mean he will have to remove some cameras from UK motorways? Or if there is an accident, for example, because of speeding on Junction 1 of the M6, then will the camera at Junction 24 stay?
It’s all a little bit too vague and with £7 million or more profit for the Treasury, I think it will probably take more than promises of reviews to reduce the amount of cameras.
