GSX RatParticipantNice to read that only 15 of them were motorcyclists – does that mean that the rest were – shock! horror! the car drivers that are always winging about speeding motorcyclists?

GSX RatParticipantAlthough its officially every 1st and 3rd wednesday, you’ll find a crowd there every week – they’ve even started opening the snack bar on the unofficial nights now! Theres usually a load there on a saturday and sunday afternoon too.

GSX RatParticipantBear in mind this reply is from a rat biker before flinging arms about in disgust!
The best thing to use is a thick black treacle like grease called black moly (molybednum or something like to give it its correct title) , sticks like the proverbial s**t to a blanket, however you get it on your hands, clothes, leathers whatever it aint gonna come off so be careful.
Otherwise, as long as youre using a cheap chain not one of them fancy plastic o ring types, get an old saucepan, put it on the stove, fill with heavy gearbox oil and drop chain in. Boil for half an hour or so, let it go cold, remove and wipe of xs oil and refit.GSX750 Ratfighter / GSX600F / Beamish250 / Honda70 Rat

GSX RatParticipantMy understanding of the ballast resistor is as follows. A coil works at something like 9 volts(for arguments sake – it might not be exactly but bear with me) so the ballast resistor is used during normal running conditions to drop the voltage from the car/bike electrical system to the required voltage as imperial stated. However, during heavy load conditions on the battery such as cranking the engine over , pulling massive current the voltage across the battery drops so the coil is supplied straight from the battery (reduced voltage remember)so that it continues to function and provide a strong spark.

GSX RatParticipantI would reccommend the GSX600F as an ideal bike for building up experience. It has a steel frame unlike the other sports 600’s so if you drop it its not the end of the world, its reasonably quick – keep up with them cbr’s and r6’s, cheap spares, suzukis bulletproof motor, cheap to insure, comfy on long rides – it is a sports tourer after all!
And, as it happens – if your willing to travel to cleethorpes and want to give me £1500 you can take my 95 m plate 600 with a fresh years ticket home with you! email me for pics if interestedGSX750 Ratfighter / GSX600F / Beamish250 / Honda70 Rat

GSX RatParticipantactually, whilst im here – the front end off a honda cg125 is a straight swap for all that leading link rubbish (or at least was on mine!), and as an added bonus looks cool as a snowmans boll***s
I also bought a box of assorted 70 and 90 spares off ebay when i was building bike and it looks like most stuff is interchangeable.
