    Restriction.

(The reason why I haven’t blown up the TZR yet.)

What is the difference between a man and childbirth?

One can be terribly painful and sometimes almost unbearable while the other is just having a baby.

PS. I won’t say too much about age. I’m 27 and everyone in my class at college is 21. Even I feel old sometimes. [xx(]

I never really liked them that much anyway but my dad used to manage a butcher factory and he quit because the stuff the owner wanted to put in the burgers and sausages was so bad!
I also learned at college that the human digestive system can’t cope with red meat and all the stuff that’s left over sits in a little sack at the end of the intestines and rots. Smells really really bad and causes all sorts of health problems.
My dad had a triple heart bypass and the surgeon told him the best thing he could do was to give up red meat as it’s the biggest source of saturated fat and cholesterol in the diet.
Loads of reasons to be glad I gave it up!

I haven’t done any track days yet. I’m still a student and they’re pretty expensive. I managed to kneeslide the TZR a few times in Scotland. Haven’t tried it here yet. The roads are just too shitty and covered in diesel and potholes.
I plan to buy a new bike when I graduate next year so I’ll set the TZR up for the track. Should be fun.

My TZR would kick an RGVs ass any day. But maybe that’s just cos there’s a real woman riding it! [;)]

I still eat chicken and fish. Couldn’t survive without them.
You’re showing your age there Stuart. I was only a year old in 1978![:p]

I didn’t get time to do everything I intended at the weekend but I did some work on the NSR. I borrowed a strobe and checked the timing which turned out to be spot on. The plug chop showed a nice clean light brown insulator. Looked good to me.
The boot seal between the carb and the head is beyond repair though so you were spot on there hoolie.
I also did a full service (a la Haynes manual) which solved a few minor problems and showed up a completely shagged battery. I’m sure that wasn’t helping matters.
I’m getting a new battery today and looking for a new seal. Hopefully that will be problem solved.
    Thanks guys.

You’re just showing what weeds you men are Lex.
I drive a 14 year old Honda NSR to work every day. I’m clocking up nearly 500 miles a week in all weathers surrounded by maniac Irish drivers. I’d like to see you try that. Wouldn’t last a day by the sound of it.

I might try whistling back at the girls, wheelie. I’ll let you know what happens. [;)]

Very cool! Can’t wait to see it go.
Have to ask though, did you ever fall off your bike without your helmet on? [;)]

I don’t see any problem with taking children as pillion passengers on motorbikes as long as they have proper protective gear on, are old enough to understand and obey instructions to sit still and hold on and are big enough to reach the foot pegs.
If the law needs to be changed, it is only that the regulations should be tightened as to what constitutes proper protective gear for children. I do think that if the law stated that a correctly fitted helmet had to be worn it would not only protect the children who do ride pillion, but prevent people who have little or no experience form taking children pillion on the spur of the moment.

What about the vegetarians among us?
I think we should have a discussion on the best chips anyone’s ever had. Thickness, crispiness, greasiness, flavour, ….
    I’m drooling already.
I don’t think anyone will beat the chip shops on the west coast of Scotland.

Thanks. I feel a little bit less green now. I’ll give that a go along with everything else at the weekend. I’ll let you know how it goes.

The bearings were from a dealer. I’m staring to think I’m far too trusting and naive. I should know better at my age.
The ignition system was replaced because the bike wouldn’t start and there was no spark. The ignition barrel, CDI unit, HT lead and the whole generator were replaced. The mechanic said the wiring was all burnt out. I had only had the bike a few weeks. I tested all that stuff before and the only fault I found was in the CDI unit. It wasn’t expensive though so I won’t complain too much.
I’m afraid I have no idea what a plug chop is.
    God, I sound so green.
