haha yup, couldnt live without them
the rear engine mount is giving me the first clue as to where to mount everything, but thats just to get it somewhere near straight, then spirit level will be cracked out.
although you raise a valid point and that isnt something i took into account, however if i make sure the frame is sat perfectly level then if i level the subframe to that there shouldnt be a prob…but feel free to correct me if im thinking wrong as its easier to do it right first time.
thanks for bringing that to my attentionJanuary 16, 2010 at 7:24 pm #59494lucky rookieParticipantben at least you didnt cut off a load of bracket you needed then had the frame powder coated lol ive built loads of bikes and still im making mistakes lol

Happy to help if i can Ben, that is the point of forum community. Katana helped me the FZ600 I worked on last year for example.
Stick with it bud.
January 23, 2010 at 5:17 pm #59500imperialdataKeymasterYep, winter projects can be a bummer, cold garage and grazed knuckles have stopped lots of projects but come spring it gets easier. Plus the knowledge and experience you get from a project like yours stands you in good stead for the future, whether it’s projects, maintenance or even a career change.
Have a rethink mate!

February 2, 2010 at 8:49 pm #59503katanaParticipantGlad its back on track and looking good, Ben
(have you been burgled or does your garage always look like that?)
February 2, 2010 at 10:46 pm #59504md24v4Participanthaha! thats bens garage tidy!!!
February 2, 2010 at 11:10 pm #59505BigBenParticipantNope its not. In the next couple of months im moving all my garage equipment and tools and bike into a 32 foot unit so theres no point tidying it ’til i get all my crap out of it, it’ll be easier to sweep out with the benches out. Then thats where the bike will be re born.
