Happy new year to all too. Thinking about a bike change now I’m back into it. I love the look of the BMW K1300S and all the reviews rave avout it. Sat on a few, very comfortable for a sports bike with a bit of touring capability.
I will have to ride one before deciding – anyone else had a look at one of these?

Changing companies often gets the premiums lower. Bennets jacked up the renewal for me, so I went to MCE this year. Maybe I now need a massive helmet?

Sailed through MOT this morning, no advisories. Did 1400 miles since last MOT.
8 mile round trip today looked like I had been on a scramble track it was so filthy. Jetwashed and put away.

John at Elliott m/cs, Cricklade is a decent bloke, very interested if KAT does another Silverstone meet.

Thanks, I may well be out over the next few weeks. Just need MOT now. Did oil and filter tonight, just in case I got petrol down the bores from the overfuelling. Seemed OK but at least the yearly oil change is done. Tyres pumped, all set to go.

I’ll be there Saturday, but gutted I can’t come on the bike. I had the carbs off to fix a fuel hose, now it’s back together it’s dumping petrol out of the air box vent. Not enough time to strip it all down again – it’s a horrible job that takes hours.
So will be in the XFR – not so awful really. Shame they won’t let me join the parade in it!
It will be great to meet up again.

I slung the Trophy in disgust into the garage and just left it for 2 months. Now chores and work travel are out of the way, I spent a bit of time on it today. Seems I had looped all the carb inlet breathers up to the tank instead of one to free air. So I was pressurising the fuel supply via the tank. No wonder it was leaking like a good’un. All seems well now, and it goes like stink with the new air box! Very noticeable, I was spinning up the rear on my test run. Oops.
Just need to get it MOTd and then all set for Christmas break.

Excellent write-up as always. I wish you’d waited for me to finish the salad – not a great pic!. Oh by the way, the Jag is a bit over 500hp

I don’t think I can get 200 miles out of a tank on mine.

I had to watch all the world superbikes and motogp today. Still have the moto3 left to watch.  I have to watch it all as soon as poss, to avoid being spoilt by glimpsing the results somewhere.
Must admit it’s quicker when recorded, I spin through all the boring bits.

I don’t know about bike tyres, but have compared many car tyres. Michelin are now always my first choice. Their car tyres generally ride a bit better, grip OK in the dry and good in the wet, are quiet, and last quite well – making their premium cost a little more value.
I get the impression they know what they are doing with compounds.
Whether this is any use for choosing a bike tyre I have no idea, but it might be a bit of use.

My Tracers team is pending joining. It looks too late for me to do well this seaaon, probably safe to let me in.

I’m in with Team After Dark. After a dodgy start where my riders kept jumping off, I’ve crept up to 769. I think I recognise the number 637 Kat?

It is running pre-mix…. would too much 2 stroke oil make it burn too hot then?

    Apparently, yes it does.
