It is that time I dread, time for new tyres.
The OE Pirelli Sport Demon tyres are rubbish so am changing both front and rear even though the front has plenty of tread left.
Will let y’all know how I get on with them, I don’t think they will set the world on fire by a long shot, bike has stupid sized wheels. Why they didn’t fit 150/60/17s on the rear and 120/70/17s on the front I don’t know, would have opened up a whole bunch of tyre choices of a more sticky and less toury nature.

KeymasterThere are definitely some limited tyre choices for some less popular wheel sizes. Makes you think the manufacturer gets a backhander from the tyre companies sometimes.

Ses has the touring tyres on his CBF1000 and they were pretty good. Lasting well too. I don’t know much about the rest of their range tbh

ParticipantI don’t know about bike tyres, but have compared many car tyres. Michelin are now always my first choice. Their car tyres generally ride a bit better, grip OK in the dry and good in the wet, are quiet, and last quite well – making their premium cost a little more value.
I get the impression they know what they are doing with compounds.
Whether this is any use for choosing a bike tyre I have no idea, but it might be a bit of use.August 29, 2013 at 8:47 pm #66723HippoDrones
ParticipantThe ride-in-ride-out shop I use forgot to order the tyres for me so not got them fitted yet. Will update when I get them on it.

ParticipantReally not impressed with Guildford Tyres, they first forgot to order the tyres I wanted when I initially contacted them and have not got in touch to let me know if they have arrived or not a second time. Even if they have ordered them in specially unless they phone me to tell me they are in before I get them sorted elsewhere they will not be getting my business again.

Participanttrouble is, most of the places round here only fit to loose wheels and I don’t think I’ll be able to remove them from the Guzzi without getting new stands.
