I have actually got a reply from Harley Davidson in Milwaukee, it was only a standard card saying that they’d received my letter and they will be looking into the matter,I will let you all know the outcome.

I used to have a TS125er, It was one of the earlier air cooled types, bloody good bike. it took anything i threw at it. i used to go green laneing on it then use it for work next day.used to hammer the conkers off it and it allways came back for more. when i passed my test i got a dt 250 yam, biggest heap of crap,it was heavier and slower than the TS, should never have got rid of it.

Let us know how you get on…

    Welcome to the forum.

The long term test bike was used by Craig Jones befor MCN got hold of it., so i would’nt be suprised that the belts broke on that bike if you look at what he does with them

aparently it is possible to adapt to chain but it means a new swingarm as well and we are talking lots of money because you cant just put any one on because the oil is kept in it giving me another problem. if you put the pulley’s from the XB12R they are a different gearing, the back pulley is much bigger

i,ve heard from other people that dockgate 20,s after sales service is crap.Personally,i think the firebolt is a much better bike than the m2 & s1, they have got most of the problems sorted but the belt is it,s big weakness

I had a mate who had an XT500,at the time i had a TS125 and we used to go onto a council tip every lunch time till he went over the bars and did his knee in,i had to ride the XT home for him and nearly lost it when i wacked the throttle open.
I,ve got an XT250 for green laneing now,it,s got
the front end from a KX250 crosser,i wanted upsidedowners and a disc brake, and an old rear shock from an early YZ,It,s got plenty of ground clearence now but still the same old side stand so it looks like it,s gonna fall over,i have to watch where i park it.I love it in the mud, it will get thru anything and it will go all day with a full tank unlike a stroker.I had a one off exhaust made for it out of stainless and it sounds great

Nice bike the firebolt, would appreciate if you could tell us a bit more about how it rides/performs etc. Sorry to hear you’re not pleased with Buell’s dealer service. I’m surprised that it could possibly be stone damage, isn’t the belt protected? I think you’ve got a good point about it snapping in the fast lane – anywhere in fact.

Got hold of a useful address for you:

    Buell Customer Service
    3700 W. Juneau Avenue
    Milwaukee, WI 53208

To speak with a Buell customer service representative call 414-343-8400. This is an american number so obviously add the relevant dialling prefix.

If you need it, I can tell you the name of a company who I use to get 3 pence per minute calls to the USA. PM me for more details.

They quote on their US website (hidden in the depths somewhere) “Sorry, we’re unable to receive e-mail at this time.”

Hope this helps, good luck and let us know your progress as bad publicity may speed things up!
