Cheers for that Scouser. Good article in BIKE magazine this month with Rossi’s engineer.
Please keep us up to date on the Moto GP and Superbikes mate.RadarModeratorSince the mid 80’s I have used Metzelers on a variety of bikes: RD350YPVS, FZ750, VF1000 and YZF600R. Generally an excellent tyre and price is OK. Just make sure you have a matched set Front and rear if possible. On my VF I had a Metzeler on the back and a Bridgstone on the front. It didn’t handle at all well.
I don’t think Metzelers are the ultimate choice for a big sports bike, but for the GT750 they should be excellent.
Good bike the GT750, bounce well…check out my post Six of the Best in the Crashing section!
Let us know how you get on with the tyres. Life, feel, grip etc.RadarModeratorDABLO,
I don’t get to ride my bikes as often as I would like, but try to go for a thrash with some friends when I get some time up in the Welsh hills and mountains. I have posted on this site under “Great Biking Roads” a story about one of these rides called “Try these”. Have a read if you get time. Many UK riders do this and track days are very popular too, Cookeye has posted alot of interesting stuff under Supermoto and there are some good links in that section too.
AT LEAST YOU DON’T HAVE SPEED CAMERAS!![]RadarModeratorLooked like a great event! Like ID amazed to see so many big, Japanese sportsbikes. Are they officially imported or do owners bring them in as a personal import?
We have a image in the west of poor road conditions overall in India (forgive me if this wrong), do you have much chance to exploit the bikes power on the road? Are there any race tracks?RadarModeratorIs that engine based on a Honda?
RadarModeratorWelcome aboard Diablo, really interested to know what bikes are still being manufactured in India. I rode an Enfield 500 in England about 10 years ago and really enjoyed the experience.
My local bike shop here in the UK is a dealer for them, and they sit there alonside Yamaha R1s and suchlike.
At the recent bike show here in Birmingham on their stand was some modified models for sportier riding. Do you get these models in India too?RadarModeratorYou might get lucky if it an older, non digital, camera if the film has run out or the camera isn’t live.
I don’t think the digital ones flash at all.RadarModeratorLook like USA spec bikes. I had a RD250E briefly in 1987, 5,000 miles and in mint condition. Wish I still had it. Mind you with the exception of the KH250 I also had in 1987 I would love to still have all of the biles I have ever owned – even the Superdreams (I had THREE) and VF1000 (the flying Hostess Trolley).
Do you know Yamaha RD350s are made in India as the Rajoot 350? Must be like an R1 there!RadarModeratorSounds really painful…and funny! Perhaps if you were going faster you would of gone clean through the Uno!
RadarModeratorUPDATE – HE HAS SOLD THE BIKE NOW!
RadarModeratorCheers for that Scouser old mate!
Beefstew: Yes MZ really now have a 1,000cc bike and it looks and feels good.
RadarModeratorIs that the place just of the A11? Not too far before Thetford? I believe you can have a blast in a Chieftan tank and the like.
RadarModeratorYep there are more! Nuburgring sounded fantastic! Can you give us more details Hammy?
RadarModeratorAre either of these companies still going?
RadarModeratorA Yamaha FJ1100/1200 or XJR1200/1300 would be a good call. How about the engine/trans from a Kwack GTR1000, wasn’t that a shaft drive?
