Managed 323.4!! What a laugh!
Yingting…my 8 year old daughter scored 206.2 and her mate 296.6, keep clicking!!RadarModeratorFor a car engine the K series is pretty good, light and able to rev hard. Can be tuned well beyond 200 bhp. There is even a 2.0 litre version about to be launched. Still thing the bike engines are better overall though.
RadarModeratorAlways liked the look of the SV650, a couple of mates have owned them and always seemed well happy. CBR600 is a great bike too, arguably better in the real world than a Blade, more useable and cheaper to run but still with fantastic performance.
Let us know if the BMF and MAG are any good, I was in the BMF years ago but didn’t really make the most of it. Did the members only day at the BMF rally in 84, 87 and 90 which was great fun. Especially in 90 when the bike club I ran then (The Fairweather Bikers, we were hard b*****ds!)entered a Puch Maxi in the moped race. What a laugh and if you get the chance to do moped racing take it.RadarModeratorDidn’t realise they (C&D) were still going, I used to ride past the shop on the way to the bike club I was in back then (1982-6 Centaurs).
RadarModeratorMartin Luther King – he actually told us what he rides:
“I have a Dream!”
Honda man then!RadarModeratorHinckley Triumph 1200 4 cylinder engine has turned up in one recently, and of course Morgan used to JAP V twin engines until the 1950s.
Other than that I am not sure.RadarModeratorHe asked for this…eh,eh Scouser!
RadarModeratorWelcome to the forum sooze. Sorry i am down in sunny Worcestershire, but I hope you find some like minded people up there.
Let us know what bike you ride.
Have you thought about the local branches of MAG or the BMF?
Good luck, and keep posting!RadarModeratorAny more ideas anyone?
RadarModeratorI really like this topic and now we have a few more members I want some more replies!
RadarModeratorAnother thought, can the mods done to other bikes in the range done by Buell be carried out on your bike?
RadarModeratorIs there any way of converting to chain drive. I suppose the engineering involved would be extensive and pretty complex, but people do all sorts of stuff. Has anybody tried this in the States for example?
I suppose the big difficulty would be the output from the gearboxRadarModeratorA company called Rocket produced a FZR1000 engined car for a few years in the 90’s. This had a rear mounted motor I believe.
Anybody know if they are still going?
Also the RD500LC powered hillclimb cars packed their punch from behind the driver, so to speak!
Last year the last assets of a company called Strathallen (I think) were sold off. They made a mide engined car with a Triumph 1200 engine. Only about 20 made.RadarModeratorDiablo, thanks for the piece on the Enfield and the interesting links. I do have a definate soft spot for them and one day when the pressures of work and family life subside I would like nothing more than to tour India. The place sounds absolutely beautiful.
RadarModeratorI seem to remember that both the long term test bikes run by “Bike” magazine and MCN had this trouble too.
Let us know how you get on…Welcome to the forum.
