The MT-10 is a mightily impressive bike, I am still toying with the idea getting rid of the MV and Duke and getting one.
Don’t totally rule out an MT-09…have a try….this what I thought of it…https://bikemeet.net/forums/topic/yamaha-mt-09-tasty-triple-review-and-pics/
A rode it’s sensible brother too
https://bikemeet.net/forums/topic/yamaha-mt-09-tracer-review-and-pictures/
and it’s little brother
https://bikemeet.net/forums/topic/yamaha-mt-07-review-and-pics-test-ride-a-yamaha-buy-a-harley/
and it’s cool retro cousin
https://bikemeet.net/forums/topic/yamaha-xsr900-cool-cafe-racer-or-slick-modern-speed-machine/
Yamaha are doing great things right now after a few years in the doldrums
Now you see it’s not that i dislike the MT09 at all, it’s a brilliant bike, i absolutely adore them! They look fantastic and sound gorgeous, especially with the Akra zorst fitted! I’d recommend one to anybody. A mate of mine from Brum was looking at get the 07…. i stopped him in his tracks and pointed him in the direction of the 09. He hasn’t looked back!
BUT, once you’ve ridden the 10 how can you go back? Buy the 09 having ridden the 10 and you’ll always from that day on, (until you upgrade to the 10 at least) kicking yourself for plumbing for 2nd best! The 10 really is a thug in an Armani suit and that’s exactly what i love about it. Now i just need to find the £26k to buy the fully spec’d 10 AND the BMW R1200R!!
I loved the raw power of my FZ1S, my MV1090 is just bonkers too. I know what you are saying about the MT-09, but it remains a corking bike. Must try and get a go on a R1200R too
RadarModeratorAll I’ll say is: CCM GP450 (low version).
Lower, lighter and more powerful than the CRF250 & 230…..
I really liked the look of them, I will have to book a test ride. Your review has had plenty of views and FB likes (over 3000 views and 30 ‘likes’

RadarModeratorThe two TDRs
I know another lad locally who has one, but that is not for sale
RadarModeratorTDM 250? As in the RGV engined motard? as in one of only 18 on the road in the UK?
Nope the Big E has the 850 four stroke. However Thumper does have TWO TDR250’s and I know he is thinking of selling one or both of them!

it is pretty much the same seat height as a Kawasaki ZX636R and lots skinnier and lighter so shouldn’t be a problem. I’d be wary about the QC on a bike that cheap though.
I do think quality would be an issue, especially if you got carried away off road. Man it is cheap though!

That is pretty tall. Test ride would be fun if they were closer. That Suzuki TS185 I heard about a few months ago is still for sale apparently…

It does indeed.

It’d be ace if I could get there on the Guzzi but I’ll get the Ducati on the road soon so can use that if the V7 is having the frame and seat sorted then.
Either way would be great Pete, be good to catch up

January 23, 2017 at 9:57 pm in reply to: Creating a custom in just four hours….my 550 is going under the knife! #69542RadarModeratorSounds really interesting and only a few miles from me. Sod’s law dictates however that only a couple of hours before reading this we’ve selected that weekend to go to the Lake District and have just booked the B&B. Have sent details to my son, I think he’ll go.
That’s a shame it would of been great to of seen you there and said hello. Hope your son can make it and enjoys himself. If you have a Facebook account if you could share the Twisted Iron link to it I would really appreciate it.
Hopefully we can get to say hello at one the bike meets on the Wednesday evenings in the summer
