the r1 handled superb, had much better brakes but lacked the brute power of the gsxr. its gonna be weird not having a gsxr, i actually feel quite sad. in a way i wish i never had the choice. monday morning i had decided that i’d have the gixer and thought about not riding the r1 but after finding out the poor service history on gixer and the fact i could only haggle them upto 1950 the choice was obvious. its an 03 model on a 04 plate, so no need to worry about mot’s for a while and with paintjob, exhaust and all the other little extras it saves me paying for anything as its got it all. prob stick it on a rolling road and maybe dynojet it. if you go to https://www.alfordbros.co.uk/ on the home page your see the bike, its the rossi one, let me know what ya think.

ended up paying 695 with virgin, spent 3 hours phoning round and best i had was 760 but i couldn’t ride any other bikes on that policy, most places were well over a grand. apparently been cheaper if i was 27.

its a very happy day but also a sad one as after 7 and half years of riding gsxr’s i’m now gonna have an R1 from thursday. i got 2250 px which i think is good for a 30000mile bike, after i found out the orange rizla gixer only had proof of one service at 8000miles i knew i had to have the R1 and after riding it and seeing all the extras plus service history and only being just over a year old it was the obvious choice.

i’m a very paranoid person and the problem is if i bought something that went bang i would seek revenge so thats probably why i have that opinion. so how much do you think a carb corona on a y plate with just over 30000miles would get privately. if i got 2750 then it would be worthwhile but whos gonna pay that when you can get same bike with 5000 miles for 500+ quid more.

i know this is not related to the topic but instead of starting a new thread does anyone know the website for dream-machines, i saw it in a mag earlier and it said http://www.dream-machines then it was either. co.uk or whatever but i thought the main part would be enough for goggle to find it but it cant and i’m getting really f***ed off. please help before i smash the house up! is it possible that the site is down?[:(]

thats all very well but i’ve never sold privately, what do you do if they want a test ride, what if they use very good fake money or what if they buy the bike then get serious problem with it and come banging on your door with bunch of heavies or just vandalise house, car, new bike etc. And by the time i manage to find buyer it will be winter or the bikes i want will be gone. I just checked in bike trader and my model bike with same paint job but with 25000 or so less miles are going for not much more than £3000. I cant believe that some people have 5yr old bikes with less than 10000miles on the clock, how can they be bikers, their the type who crash etc,w**kers!

it was just that when i was in laguna’s yesterday a bloke was asking about rizla colours and i overheard the salesman say that they dont do it from the factory and that they send bikes to dream machines for the respray, but now you mention it when i spoke to the bloke about the one i was about to ride he did actually say he was after a 750. I’ve never had to make decisions like this before, in the past i either had no choice or i knew excatly what i wanted. out of interest how much are you hoping to get for your bike. I’ve only be offered 1850 px agaisnst the orange rizla and the other shop with green rizla, blade and r1 have offered me 2200

problem is all gixer’s that are in rizla colours are also resprays as apparently corona(gotta be best ever paint job) is the only racing colour suzuki do from the factory. where do i draw the line on being paranoid. What about the brake discs, are they race ones?

the k2 gixer was absolutely awesome, i had an hour to test it and i enjoyed every minute of it. their holding it for me till 4pm monday so i get enough time to try the r1. I’ve decided that i wont be having the blade or the green rizla. The r1 has galfer wavy discs(how much do these cost?) and akeaprovic silencer and other little extras, apparently it got resprayed cos the bike fell over in his driveway. Should i be paranoid that it could of been used for racing or is it common for some bikers to spend all this in one year and do 6000miles and then sell it?

bloody hell i’ve now seen an 04 r1 in rossi colours, 6000miles one owner and £6299. should have a year left on warranty as well. does anyone know if the 04 model had the exhaust under seat as i thought they revamped the r1 for 04 but this one has exhaust on side so i expect its an 03 model which just got registered in 04. i really cant make decisions and my girlfriend is fed up with me talking about which bike to get. i’m test riding the orange rizla in couple of hours, at least i’m getting to ride several different bikes. decisions decisions!

Have you noticed recently all the publicising about losing weight, and they were on about cost of treatment in hospitals, this was aimed at overweight people, they used this issue with smokers. Personally I am only a little person, but my other half is overweight due to medication, he eats properly but cant lose weight cause of disability, but thats not the issue, how would you like being dictated too, to lose weight and if you dont there will be a fine? People should accept people for who they are, no matter what size you are!

I’m not riding fast, I’m just flying low. and please DONATE to this website

well said. one thing i will add is that maybe smokers, drinkers, drug users, solvent users and very overweight people who need operation/medication etc for self inflicted illness should pay to cover the cost. i’m not being a bastard as i had the same opinion when i smoked etc.
