My last bike before the kids-induced-layoff was an SP370 – lovely little single that I regret selling almost as much as my first proper bike…

Have you got your tickets to the next Mach Festival?
Debs might drive the camper van while I ride the Tiger, so we won’t need to glamp this time….
Not yet, I just need to check some dates and I should be up for it. Just debating whether to Glamp or camp! Will there be a Mach 3.5? I really want to go to that too if at all possible
Who knows what NS will do next? Certainly not him! I’ll be with you at Mach 3.5 if it ever happens too 2.5 was a hoot :-X
Have you got your Welsh TT ticket yet? I’m going for the full weekend (solo) with just tent, sleeping bag, tequila and thermarest. No need for clean clothes – it’s a biker’s thing!

elessimoParticipantDoes anyone know of any other low-ish trail bikes for Radar and the rest of us short-arses?
Or will we have to learn to ride like the trail goddess Marianne? (Bet her legs are shorter than yours, Radar)
elessimoParticipantWhat about a Honda CRF 230 f, they are good enough to green Lane with and also are a little lower iirc than a lot of the other dirt bikes.
Agreed! You need a little trail bike for more fun
In fact, we all need one! More bhp & electronics is not the way to go on our crowded roads….elessimoParticipantI don’t know why they are doing it, everybody I know who used them is not paying up. Having a bad effect on the forum though.
Yes – I’m not paying either…. time for an annoyed email methinks
elessimoParticipant[imho]bollocks![/imho]
elessimoParticipantWow – I know that this is an old blog, but that’s really death-defying stuff!! :o
Your guardian angel must be a biker….
As Stunter says, not much you can do about blowouts (assuming the tyres are legal), nor people not using their mirrors. Even assuming all cars, vans & lorries are trying to kill you, the unannounced right turn can be so quick that bailing out can be the only option left.
Thanks for relating those incidents, Craftycarmy…. have you had any more since?
elessimoParticipantI have a big gripe about Photobucket pulling the free image hosting. I have thousands on there!
Agreed!
Is it in force yet? I’ve noticed a virtual wall of unwanted adverts when I use Photobucket, but I’m not paying yet…
elessimoParticipantSorry Steve, but for some reason you reminded me of this:
Karl, you have a very strange mind!
But I do see the similarity……
elessimoParticipantSorry but that’s hilarious!
Glad you enjoyed it, Stunter!
Looking forward to getting back on the bike, but got physio on Friday first….
elessimoParticipantbike looks aces mate
Thanks Pete – it rides really well, especially since I lowered it 40mm. The panniers are great crash protection (see my Spanish trip blogs!).
Looking forward to getting on it again soon to test my busted hand…. :-[
elessimoParticipantNice looking bike and that luggage looks really usable. Can’t believe he rode it over from Spain, did you pay him first?!
Nope – I trusted him that the bike was good – he trusted me to pay up the agreed amount. We met up at my works carpark: i had a quick look around the bike then transferred the cash into his account. His mate then took him to the airport to fly back to Madrid.
Job done!
elessimoParticipantI’m sorry to say that your misfortune gave me a good laugh Steve. That cast is priceless, I’m sure A & E had a good laugh at that. Shame it wasn’t the outer two fingers, it would have looked a lot more rock ‘n’ roll…
Brilliant write-up though, especially given the fact you only have one good hand.
Thanks Dave – I had to do something to relieve the boredom of 3 weeks off work (at least!) in the middle of summer .
As I can’t currently do any test riding I’m getting closer and closer to actually cleaning my Explorer: not something that comes naturally to me.I’ll try to not to write a report about that experience, though……
elessimoParticipantHealing process unknown: the impermeability of the cast means that I can’t tell what’s going on underneath, except that it sometimes itches and I keep dropping things!
Also, my thumb seems to have its own mini-personality – it keeps getting claustrophobic and panicky so I have to talk it down: it wants to leave the repressive confines of the cast and strike out into the big wide world. Up to now I seem to have convinced it to stay, though I’m not sure how long until it breaks out (possibly with the help of my right hand and a junior hacksaw)…
Did I mention that my lack of wheels was making me sir-crazy?
