They do start early – I’ll be there at 6pm straight from work….
elessimoParticipantUnfortunately I’m not likely to be out for a while on the bike Steve due to work and play commitments. Will try my best though to get out to a meet-up asap.
Make sure you let us know if you can make a pub rendezvous and we’ll be sure to turn up (if we’re in the country!)
elessimoParticipantThe Ledbury and Toddington meets were both cloudless – much like our recent TT week….
A recent run from Thumpers’ place to the Forest in torrential rain (on Friday evening) has proved my new ARMR textiles are 100% waterproof, so I’ll be there this Wednesday (Drakes Broughton) whatever the weather….
See you there, Dave?
elessimoParticipantThanks for moving this post ses!
Looking forward to the 1200GS – suppose I’d better try Triumphs’ big Explorer too, just for comparison….
elessimoParticipantJust been to the latest Bikernite at Ledbury – now Debs wants her own bike as long as it’s a Triumph! She was looking at the T100 Bonnies; if she gets her own then the Xrx would suit me well, but only if I can get an aftermarket can that sounds good on a triple. Any ideas, anyone?
I need a second test ride to see if I was just fluking it, or maybe the Xrx is that good to ride? Certainly felt like I was nailing those bends!
Radar, might do a TDM review after the TT…
elessimoParticipantMy impressions of Thumper’s recently departed GS
Nice one Radar – I can certainly relate to your viewpoint. But I can’t wait to try the 1200GS (with the lowered seat!) just to find out how it feels at low speed: I’m sure it’ll be fine at high speed – especially having followed Thumper, contactjules and Other Don on theirs…
elessimoParticipantgreat review Steve with just the right amount of innuendo now get on the 1200GS and change your world !
Wot innuendo?? ??? Why don’t you critique your current works bike?
elessimoParticipantHe’s got his route and dates on that link – I’ll check it out tomorrow and try and arrange to join him somewhere: though I think that his Welsh coast stint is when we’re at the TT…. Could be a good bet for non-TT riders?
So Debs and I will probably join him for some of the East Coast in August (route includes parts of the Midlands, Worcester and Leominster!) or the South West leg in early September (depends on where the weekends fall…).
elessimoParticipantLook forward to it!
elessimoParticipantThanks Dave – Debs says ‘when are you going to join Thumper & Radar and drop in on us?’
elessimoParticipantKatana, I used to live in buzzing Wickhamford: blew up a BSA Super Rocket on that little dual carriageway… Some of the Bikernites are certainly within your reach: Toddington next week? I used to work there (in the sawmill) when I lived in Wickhamford.
Radar, bring Mandy for a romantic night out! :
elessimoParticipantGoing to give this Weds a miss: just driven the MX5 home (Tewkesbury to the Forest) in mad rain/gales, losing sight of big artics in the spray, watching vans being thrown around like toys. Had to slow down to 80 at least twice!
And the forecast says more of the same tomorrow… so probably best left ’til I buy that rainproof oversuit and those handguards….elessimoParticipantThis Weds is Tewkesbury (Village Inn at Twyning. The next one in Worcestershire is 20th May, in Upton on Severn – the Kings Head (riverside): WR8 0HJ. 7pm.
https://www.bikersnite.com/pub-list.phpBe good to see some of you guys out in the boondocks….
elessimoParticipantWell, it did involve a bit of queuing but the actual ride-out was excellent. And the thunder of 5000 bikes was worth hearing. Certainly up for it next year….
elessimoParticipantMore than quite….
Excellent!!
