Hi uhuh, dont know, but in the classic motorcycle mechanics issue 187 a guy doing a rebuild on a monkey bike a honda DAX which has the same engine as the step throughs, Quotes,I know the top ends are interchangeable between the 50 and 70,but not with the 90 which implies the 90s are different unquote,That was from the May2003 issue. You may be able to ask the chap, this is hes web address from the Magazine, [email protected], OK?

About three months ago a neighbour with a 1994 RF900 suzuki asked if i would look at his front discs as he spun the wheel,we found the disc to be warped, before phoning the breaker we went on the net to find out how much they would cost new. we got onto the EBC website and found that the 1200 bandit discs and the RF900 both have the same part number depending on model year/letter,so we knew if a breaker didnt have the RF900 but had the right bandit, and visa versa, bingo we would have a result, sorry to say the breaker nearest to us had neither,so my neighbour ordered them new from EBC,but that proves another common part source, ride safe

That was a really sad day i think classic motorcycle and classic motorcycle mechanics covered the story. They say they saved a lot of machines, but i am not aware of what has been rescued. have you read the pictorial history of Triumph motorcycles by Ivor Davies?its a really good book, came out in 1985 and again in 1996,its worth getting a copy it highlights how important the mark was. I was at brands hatch one year at the festival of speed, and a guy ran a tiger cub sprint bike on the straight just below the grandstand,KNOW WHERE I MEAN? if i remember rightly the terminal speed was 100mph not bad for a little un’ anyway them was the days.
