So what was it like? I liked the look of that, how was the the riding position with the rearsets and flat bars?
r6ymyParticipantThe V7 probably. I’m off to wales for Easter weekend on the MV with a group of friends who like to “make progress”, so I think i’ll enjoy a quiet pootle on the Guzzi tomorrow.
r6ymyParticipantWeather looking good, I’m definitely going, maybe see you there.

r6ymyParticipantIf the weather perks up I’ll be there
Same here, it is a good event..
r6ymyParticipantHadn’t actually watched your video until just now. I know where you’re coming from and can sympathise. I spent a full at the NEC and again at the Excel bike shows, and came away thinking even if I won the lottery tomorrow there was nothing I’d be rushing to buy. I did like the Spitfire, but it would have to be a second or third bike – if I hadn’t bought my V7 just a week before I would have been very tempted. I like the V4 Nortons, but very limited use for one. The Triumph Thruxton is nice. The new Street Triple would be good but I had one a couple of years ago, and don’t like the styling of the new ones.
I liked the look of the RNineT Racer, but the riding position was like being on the rack, it felt like you were stretched over a four foot long tank.
I might try a test ride on an Aprilia Shiver, and the KTM when its out.r6ymyParticipantIt’s a CCM Spitfire, limited production of 150, only £8,000 which seemed like very good value to me. They are talking about maybe making some more because the initial run sold out so quickly.

r6ymyParticipantYour lucky then. I’m also using super unleaded, but’s its way too lean at low revs. I’ve orderd one of the Finebau compensator modules as I would like to keep the baffles out, hopefully get it by the weekend so can fit before Sunday.
r6ymyParticipantPete, did you have to do anything to adjust the fuelling on your V7 after swapping the pipes and air filter?
Mine doesn’t like running without the baffles in the Mistral exhaust, looking at a Finebau 8 Jet Lite plug in module to adjust get it running right.r6ymyParticipantYes, still have the MV. Could never keep up with our tour group on the V7!
r6ymyParticipantWhhat are you thinking of doing to the seat? I have new Guzzi seat that I now won’t be using so will be going on ebay soon, is this of any use to you?

I got myself a V7 last weekend, ended up with a Racer II. Will bring it along on the 19th.

Sod’s law dictates however that only a couple of hours before reading this we’ve selected that weekend to go to the Lake District and have just booked the B&B. Have sent details to my son, I think he’ll go.
