Chalk and cheese is a good way to describe the difference, I would say fours are easier and more forgiving to ride, vee twins are more of an aquired taste. I like both but ,I’ve been very fortunate to have had loads of different bikes over the years. Best thing to do would be go to your local friendly dealer and get a test ride. Some of my mates who grew up on fours and have tried vee twins didn’t like them at all, one even took a Honda SP1 back after 10mins on test, couldn’t get on with it at all.

Parked up and the Ladies said why don’t you two go for a lap on your own. We were gone in 10secs maybe less, steady where we needed to and quicker on the fast bits, so, hit the mountain again (its my favorit bit)swapped places with my mate on his Busa a few times till we hit Kates Cottage (its downhill from here)Passed the busa on the drop to Creg ny Baa, its a bit of a roller coaster and the front wheel leaves the ground when you cant open the throttle any more, slow down to about 40mph for the right hander at the Creg then balls out allmost redline in top, didn’t look at the speedo, didn’t blink. Top speed is 170plus on a ZX11, best of all my mate didn’t get past me on the Busa. I was still buzzin hours later and it was all legal cos theres no speed limit in the Isle of Man.Gonna do it all again soon, what a ride.
Fantastic experience Kezzr! I went to the Manx in 1987 and watched the racing from Creg ny Baa. Superb, must go back one day…

KezzrParticipantI’ll be there on the R1, no no not my R1, that would be a little too ambitious,i’m gonna get it sorted soon, no really. I’m going on Scotts R1, he wants me to take it for a run, Bassetts Pole is near Wales, or will I be heading in the wrong direction. OOPS.
KezzrParticipantThe NSR went back to the original owner, my nephew, he continued to have major probs with it, self inflicted on several occasions, heard last week it was nicked from his workplace.(still owes me money on it)Micks still got the ZX6R an his bro in law has a new ZX636. Going back to the Aprilia, in MCN they said,A brilliant track bike that can be ridden to the limit all the time, sounds about right to me, bet you new that anyway.
KezzrParticipantHi Mate, Welcome to the forum, don’t mess about, go get the Busa, you won’t be sorry. Regards KEZZR.
