You would certainly turn some heads pulling up at bassets pole in the summer with one of those.

Other than that (which I don’t believe you can help with), the finder works well! :)

It depends who’s asking. Officially, I am qualified on electrics (16th edition regs) but I am not Part P registered, which means I can’t ‘legally’ work on domestic electrics. But can work on commercial and industrial, which weirdly work on higher voltages and amps! :)

    Good old rules and regulations…

If the fuse in the plug isn’t blowing then the RCCB is most likely tripping on a live/neutral in-balance (im-balance?) as an earth fault can easily generate more amperage than the fuse in the plug. This can be caused by the main motor on its way out with a bad winding, if its a winding, you can get the motor rewound, not sure on cost I never ask coz its on account! LOL.

Random bad windings aren’t easy to find, but I can pop round and test the rccb for you.

Let me know if you want it doing.

The moped only has 12inch wheels and its on rough ground, nos would be more of an uncomfort than an advantage! :)

Well then, here we are… number 14! The Jammy Bodgers! LOL!!!

    https://www.bmf.co.uk/Events/pages/bmf_show.php?content_id=449

We have a moped, but its not in great condition, its an ’03 Gilera Runner 50SP, but has been sitting in a very wet garage for about 3 years. Brakes are seized, fuel and oil lines are splitting and the battery is completely shot, you need to connect the jump starter to even make the indicators work!!! Can get the engine ticking over but you can’t throttle up because, i think, the back wheel is seized and the engine stalls.

Will get some photos when the weather is better, and will make a blog on our build up to the races!

    Happy days!!

Ah, unless someone corrects you then that makes sense. I thought it was something to do with the transmission but not sure what that could be.

    Cheers.

Watched hill climbing the other week on eurosport, looks quite funny, and some bits looked pretty painful. Wouldn’t want to be the marshalls who run out behind the bike to catch it as it rolls down the hill!

I think the idea is that modern day cars are starting to move into hybrid technology, some sort energy recovery will recharge the batterys while the petrol engine is running. Plus, you don’t need that much horsepower when your rolling through heavy traffic etc.

Should be interesting to see how it works in F1, whether it makes a difference, and more importantly, how many of the pit crew get shocked! I wouldn’t want to work on it, F1 pit lanes are bloody dangerous as is…

Yep, Turbos were banned in 1989 after the cars became too dodgy. In qualification the engineers turned the boost up so far the engine would barely last a couple of laps but had a ‘reported’ output of 1’400hp! Thats a lot of power.

I have a mate, Ben, that custom builds choppers, based in Redditch. I am sure if you hand him some cash he will do any works you need. Will dig his number out if you want it.

    Alternatively, here’s his site
