June 8, 2010 at 11:12 pm #59539katanaParticipantWhat you doing with the Bandit Ben?
June 9, 2010 at 9:29 am #59540BigBenParticipantThrowing it in the bin! Haha
nah when the workshop is set up then it’ll be on one bench getting built up, will possibly have another fight on another bench that I’m getting for naff all or a gsx1400 with a front end smash to put back together:)June 15, 2010 at 10:09 pm #59541RadarModeratorWhat happened to the piston kit?
June 16, 2010 at 12:11 pm #59542BigBenParticipantThe big bore kit? It’s hiding away in a Tupperware box inside another box hiding inside either my shed or my spare bedroom… Basically not got a clue. Radar just to mention I’ve been taking great pics all this month so I can make selecting a winner of pic of the month easier for you cos I’m such a nice guy
June 17, 2010 at 9:45 pm #59543RadarModeratorCheers for that Ben, I look forward to seeing them. Enjoying the Gixxer so far?
June 18, 2010 at 11:03 am #59544BigBenParticipantGood good. I think everyone will like them
no the Gixxer is crap. Handles like a bag of poo. Isn’t as fast or fun or comfy as my ten. It probably won’t last the season although my missus loves it.August 10, 2010 at 6:46 pm #59545BigBenParticipantBit of progress to report on the bandit front: swingarm pivot bushes have been totally ground out and flattened to bare metal so I have enough breathing round to get the ducati swinger lined up. I have the rest of the ducati bits I needed to line the two sprockets up and I spent 32 quid on a laser chain alignment tool which is absolutely cock on for this specific type of work. Next stop is to machine the bushes for the swinger and the stress member. After that just need to make damn sure the wheel alignment is right too cos if not there will be a load of greif, swearing and eventually crying to follow :p I also have an MV Agusta f4 thou rear wheel coming to try get that to got with a bit of machining.
Other than that not a lot going on. Workshop is near enough up and running and it feels good to finally get space to work in:))August 12, 2010 at 9:16 pm #59546RadarModeratorEncouraging progress Ben
August 13, 2010 at 12:03 am #59547BigBenParticipantYes indeedy. What I will show you next everyone told me wasn’t possible so this will blow your minds!!
so there you go. The impossible was very possible it would seem. Bandit frame to Ducati swingarm to MV Agusta rear wheel.
August 13, 2010 at 7:46 pm #59548imperialdataKeymasterNow that’s nice Ben, keep it up!
August 13, 2010 at 11:49 pm #59549RadarModeratorGot to agree with ID then Ben…keep the updates coming!
August 20, 2010 at 9:30 pm #59550BigBenParticipantI knew all my cockyness would come Back and bite me on the ass at some point but i thought it’d take a bit longer. Long story short, barrels were left in the wrong box for 5 months that was full of water. You all know what came next. Unwrapped them and they were obscene. They looked like they had been in the sea for a year. Best part of two hours I spent rubbing them down with a pan scrubber. And this time they are caked in grease and hidden away from water… Nearly messed the whole project up
August 20, 2010 at 11:40 pm #59551imperialdataKeymasterHoly crap, hope they are OK
August 21, 2010 at 3:50 pm #59552HippoDronesParticipantlovin the progress
