I must own up to this being as it’s  to do with the subject – Having got my licence ready for my 16th birthday I was out on the road at 08:00 and on a Triumph, yep a Triumph scooter – a Tigress 175cc 2 stroke! There was also a BSA scooter of the same design, that being a BSA Sunbeam, a 250cc 4 stoke!

Well I switched to Pilot Power last year – wanted extra life now that I’ve slowed a little – think you are going to find the payback is (of course) a distinct edgy feel that a harder tyre is bound to give.I’m definately having to ‘read’ the tarmac on bends more than I did with the Maxxis.

I’ve had one for years -its got two rods to support wherever you can, mine invariably doesnt feel safe and I would never use it on its own, as in, always use with the rear one to ensure the bike is supported securely.

There is a very good chance I would be able to meet up either at Crossgates or en-route.  You could even come around here – its about time!!! 80 yards isn’t much of a detour me thinks  ;)

By the way, they leaned with the bike.

They got around the leaner capacity rule at the time. A sidecar or three wheeler car had no capacity limit so bolting one of these onto a big bike and tying on your L plates meant you could legally ride a big bike!

Check your battery connections too – I had an intermittent cut out fault and it was just a loose battery terminal.

I quite agree! ps around these parts it’s usually Volvo estates in black or dark metallic grey that go around unmarked BUT you can usually spot the additional mirror moulded above the nearside door one.

I’ve yet to clap eyes on it, but will obviously keep a look out as it’s on my doorstep. It could be that its out there because of the bike fatality between Kerry and Newtown two weeks ago, plus we believe another biker was killed this Saturday 2 miles outside Welshpool on the Shrewsbury road. I think they would use the words ‘being proactive’!!

What about the comfort issue, should you not factor that in too, or are they both on par? As you know we both did a Sotland trip over Easter, at times I was wishing I was on the 1000 because it literally is a longer legged bike (600 used because of the camping gear)

:)Hi EVERYONE  :) long time no post/reply! Seeing this post reminded me about seeing my own photo of my GSXR600 used to advertise their product – the cheeky so and so’s had nicked it straight off the BikePics site! In that pic they sure looked as good as the genuine item because they were! ;)
