Wasn’t the insurance expensive though? Being a woman you probably got discounts and what not?

Well started out looking like between 1000 – 1300 but i finally got myself insured for 560ish, excess is kinda high but it’ll do for this year.
Being a girl does have it’s advantages!! hehe.

i know what you mean, when i first thought about doing it i knew i would ultimatley like a 600, but considered getting a 400 for maybe a year to gain experience. on forums there was a big hoo ha about peep jumping straight onto R6’s which knocked me back a bit but the guys that knew me personally just said go for it and i’d handle it. But i guess it does depend on the rider, altho i’m still young i’m not a total t**t…i’m mature enough to not go beyond my current limits and think i’m sumink i’m not. yes my riding is improving and i’m getting faster at the twisties, but if i didn’t get along with my baby then i would’ve bitten the bullet and said ‘right this isn’t for me right now’ but as it turns out my instict was right even before i got on a bike…its odd!! altho i’ve no previous bike knowledge, i’ve been on the road for over 6 years so have some benifits that way.
The R6 for some peep wouldn’t be so forgiving in a f**k up, but its the rider who is in control…the bike will only go as fast as you make it. I understand peeps reservations about it, it is giving someone with little experience a hell of a lot of power- I’m confident not over confident..i still have shit days, then i’ll go out for an amazing ride with the boys and will get great feed back from them. When i first met Del and Sid they both said after this summer i’d be looking for sumink bigger, (i hope they were talking about bikes!?![;)][:o)] oo er!) but i would like to keep the R6 until next summer…we have plans to track it, and one of us get an R1 to go with the Fighter(s)…but thats a dream at mo! Did you have the R6 when you did this? or.. was it a case of CG125_Bird ? :P
Actually, did you hop onto an R6 for your first bike? :S
(I know this is slightly off-topic… but it IS a question about filtering..so.. :P)

pah, i’ve always been R6_Bird!!! hehe…had the R6 before i took test! well even before my CBT! went from zero to supersport.
I’m constantly filtering through slow moving traffic commuting, but the A14 and M25 was at high speeds.oh new top speed 145mph! hehe.[:D]

Yeah i didn’t start filtering until a couple of wks after test and i had a bit of confidence on my bike. you get used the the arseholes in 4x4s blocking yr path (and general arseholes who clearly know yr there), lorrys that you need to give a wide birth and yooths at front of lights that want a race.

But going back to subject i think i done aroun 10 miles on A14 one evening, and leaving Brands in the pouring rain…not sure how far that was to si’s!! hehe. oh and pretty much all the way from Peterborough to Hunstanton on the Easter Bank holiday.

It’s true, since i started riding and i constantly babble about riding- a lot of my car driving mates will always comment that they see and are more aware of bikers on their travels. tis good to know i have a positive affect on peep! haha[:o)]
