No problem I’ve been meaning to go to Bassett’s the last two weeks but weather has been iffy and the Bandit has been poorly – badly siezed rear caliper (winter riding!) just got it sorted and nice new pads fitted just got to do fronts and change the fluid then it’s all systems go for stratford.
just an idea there was a big bike shop opened up a couple of years ago on your right before you get into stratford proper, by all the industial estates as you come in from Birmingham anyone know it – could be a good meeting point as I think they have a cafe etc and it’s pretty easy to find/park etc (and easy to see from main road too)___________________________
Elvis is dead…get over it!PINGUParticipantIt is a sad loss to what’s left of the british car industry but I think it was pretty much a foregone conclusion, not enough investment, poor sales, iffy quality at times and too many sticky fingers in the board room too!
I currently work for a logistics company within Land Rover (used to work for Land Rover itself) and I’m getting out of automotive now, it’s too bloody dodgy now and Ford do not take prisoners!!!___________________________
Elvis is dead…get over it!PINGUParticipantI’ll try to be there too.

Has anyone seen the plot???
PINGUParticipantI’ve got one which will lighten the mood a bit…
A couple of summers ago whilst filtering through heavy rush hour traffic (by Jaguar plant Castle Bromwich)on my way home from work, I was coasting down the centre between the ‘parked cars’ at about 15mph when suddenly a car door flew open just in front of me to the left, some ‘prat’ decided he wanted to take his jacket off, not bothering to look in his mirror first and to cloth eared to hear me coming along, he nearly jumped out of his skin when he was confronted by a loud (drag pipes) kwak chop with a 6’2″ 16 stone very pissed off biker attached (just about) to it, He made some apologetic noises then got back in his cage (locking the door) well things then got worse as i sat there shaking my head in disbelief with feet firmly planted on the floor Along comes a bloody Peugeot which pulled up to see if every thing was ok but failed to notice he’d just run over my right foot!!!
Car drivers can’t do right for doing wrong.
The morale is forget bike boots – a good pair of caterpillar safety boots are much better (and keep your toes warmer in winter)
Hope you all enjoyed my mis-fortune.REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS…
PINGUParticipantWill do Radar, the Bandit is good fun but feels a bit Learner-ish for me I’m more used to bigger bikes 750’s and over but as a commuter and general knock-about I can’t fault the Bandit other than the horrible clunky gearbox…much prefer Kawasaki box even 20 year olds – much smoother (or just well worn in by the time I got ’em)
Maybe I just need something which I’m not affraid of busting when I start tinkering with it!
Somebody must have an interesting swap for me out there somewhere…..REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS…

Handsome looking beastie that is and nothing like the BMW/JCB GS’s I like it would suit me well as I’m 6’2″ my little Bandit would look like a toy next that thing!!!REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS…

Your ride is still new, mines been around a bit longer. Your bars will evolve one night when your not looking! and then you too will be able to take simultaniously the wing mirrors off cars on both sides of you as you filter through traffic. (and some people think Renthals are for comfort…ha)REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS…
PINGUParticipantStan I can’t find a code for the colour on the frame VIN plate but log book shows it as ORANGE!
The TYPE on VIN is GN77A if that’s of any help and the paint is a Bronze/Red metallic which I’ve not seen very often on Bandits they are usually flat Red.
Suzuki may be able to offer more help from the TYPE code.
Good LuckREHAB IS FOR QUITTERS…
PINGUParticipantA very sad loss, my deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
RIP SimonPINGUParticipantNutty if you fancy some add ons have a look at my bike ‘EL Bandito’
M&P are pretty good for bits and bobs to spruce things up a bit…
above all enjoy returning to bikes you picked a good starter with the Bandit, I’d been riding for years when I happened across my 600 and I’ve had great fun with it.Even if the name does provoke some ‘fun’ names!!!
