That looks like a good fun project. I used to have a Suzuki with that engine, and it’s torque was really useful. Hope you have some decent brakes to bolt onto it!
GordyParticipantHi katana, I’ve sent you a pm.
Regards,
G.GordyParticipantWaking up after a great sleep, not having to go to work today, realising that all my problems are small ones, and enjoying every breath and every moment of the day…
GordyParticipantNo, no, Radar’s birthday is the 12th… I know this because I just put the card in the post today!
What do you mean ‘late again’ ?
Damn Chinese watches…GordyParticipantI seem to recall that many (…many) years back HD sold small re-badged 2-stroke Cagiva bikes in some European markets including the UK. I think I saw a 125cc version that looked nice (…when I was 16). However, even then I thought HDs should be big bikes not little twang-twangs.
Today, the ethos of HD and MV are so different that the only possible alignment is that they both want to appeal to the pompus elitist who think they have something ‘better’ than the masses. In other words, it’s not about giving you a good bike for your money, but instead it’s about pampering to your ego and sucking your wallet dry.
GordyParticipantDoes Wolfie ride an XS?
GordyParticipantI only came across them by casual browsing on https://thekneeslider.com/ .
Good luck to them all.GordyParticipantquote:

Forget the power, do you think you could handle the adulation?
GordyParticipantRadar, there is something scarily familiar about the Yamaha RD350F2 photograph! Can’t believe it was so long ago.
GordyParticipantNever did like speed cameras, and not too fond of plod either. Given the arsenal and technology available on the ‘plane I would have happily let rip a missile just for the heck of it.
(Said Gordy, after gathering six points in the last six months!)
GordyParticipantPhotographer: “Where the hell did that come from?”
Dobbin: “Well, it all started with a wart on my left hand side…”GordyParticipantActually I forget (…must be my age…). It was always going to be a limited edition job.
I don’t know how companies with no history and no apparent long term plan, virtually no USP, and poor value-for-money ever get the financial backing?
But anyway, leaving aside my personal bias and prejudices, the more variety in the market the better, so maybe I should wish them a begrudging ‘good luck’.
Mind you, if the I had to make a choice of Harley-powered sports bikes I would personally opt for a Wakan:
https://www.engmore.com/home.htmlGordyParticipantOk, so the price is silly, but I find it warm and comforting that there is the sentiment, desire, and commitment to build stuff like this, despite the fact that the market is tiny and many of the parts need some level of tooling investment.
Personally I hope stuff like this goes on and on…
GordyParticipantI could never afford a fizzie when I was ‘that age’, and it was so sad.
Couldn’t afford a X7 when I wanted one…
Couldn’t afford a GS550 when I wanted one…
Couldn’t afford an XR3i when I wanted one…
Couldn’t afford a 3500cc SD1 when I wanted one…Hang on, there seems to have been a bit of a theme to my yonger days… !!!
: )
GordyParticipantIt’s just that I have followed the progress of that company since about 2005… their attitude really is elitist, as if they have invented God’s bike or something. Put it up against a Tuono and the mass market bike will wipe it’s a55 on the Ecosse in every area of performance, reliability, comfort, etc. .
I guess that I just don’t like their over-hyped attitude.
