Nice one chap, bike looks lovely
It certainly ticks my boxes
Won't be challenging you on your trackdays, but it's good fun on our rural A- and B-roads.
Hope to do a little touring with a tent next summerelessimoParticipantWell, I liked the test ride so much I went next-door and bought a similar Black T120 with bar-ends and fly-screen for £1000 less:
All packed up for a trip to Snowdonia last JuneManaged a two-bike ride-out today: first my DR350 up to Jed's then the T120 to Chepstow and back home via Tintern, tracking the River Wye in all its' glory….
Bonnie at Chepstow CastleLooking forward to getting out in 2020 for more miles than this year….
elessimoParticipantYeah – great bikes!!
Check out the stylish dress sense
elessimoParticipantLooks like you had a fabulous time. I would have come, but felt I needed a quiet week before the new job, thinking I might have got that wrong!! Mach 2.5 was brilliant, the only one I have made it to so far.
Good to catch up in Ludlow yesterdayand meet the new Triumph in person. I have to say it looks great
You're right Radar, it was another excellent Mach Festival – the mixture of bikes, music, booze, food and people does work whether it's sunny or not
Thanks for turning out for our meeting in Ludlow – good sarnies, eh? See you at Prescott on Sunday?elessimoParticipantSome great photos. Your camper van looks awesome!
The camper van is indeed great – it's revolutionised our spare time. After 55 years of camping we now don't mind it when it rains – our last few tents have been trashed by Welsh storms, but now we just crack open another drink and pull the awning in when the wind gets up….
We're off to the Outer Hebrides in it later this year
elessimoParticipantExcellent article!
elessimoParticipantI test rode a Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor yesterday…nothing like the power of the Bonnie, but for the money it is an appealing package. Review to follow
Mmmm – sounds interesting – how much is one?
Look forward to reading itelessimoParticipantIt's a very cool bike, especially all in black. Hope you enjoy it as much as the 350, sounds like it'll be easier to live with
Road and rain modes sound interesting. What do they actually change?
Hi Dave, the Rain mode apparently just alters the sensitivity of the throttle and how quickly it opens, rather than changing the amount of power available. This is the HT (High Torque) variant of the 1200cc twin – it certainly reacts well when the throttle is twisted .
Haven't yet tried Rain mode though. It seems be the best of the old Trumpets (looks, sound, small size) with the best of the new (quality of finish, reliability, engineering). Great Fun!
elessimoParticipantWell, lets chat about it – are you going to the Indian dealers with the burger van (Midwest Motos?) this weekend, Radar?
I was away in Scotland with the Thundercat owners group, so I missed the Open Day. Did you go?
No Radar, my old mate John came out to the Forest for the first time in 4 years on his lovely Kwacker 636. We did a trip to The Red Lion at Wainlodes via Ledbury for Debs' first rideout on the Bonnie.
The Bonnie is so different from the Explorer – the burbling twin is audible at all times, whatever the revs; with the big triple I could only hear that lovely howl when I revved it hard. Which meant that I kept going too fast.
And the Bonnie feels so small and low that it felt natural to launch it onto some gravel and over a grassy hummock when we got to the pub. On dry grass it feels rock solid. I reckon it would do South America really well (long as I invest in warmer clothes!).elessimoParticipantI rode back from Cornwall on the Thundercat on Thursday, just over 200 miles. Sadly I have to confess that I was in pain for a sizeable chunk of the trip. Do I need a 'sit up and beg' distance bike?
Test rides on both a Yamaha 700 and 900 Tracer GT booked for May 10th.
I won't be selling the Thundercat, but it might have (another) friend in the garage soon!
Yup, time for an old duffer's bike I'm afraid Radar! You could even go naked!
Why not buy Thumper's Harley off him or go Brit retro like me and enjoy battling the wind again?I recommend it….
elessimoParticipantCould this almost be the perfect bike to take over to watch the Manx Classic?
Obviously only beaten into second place by the Thruxton High Power version
It would be great for that and I really do fancy the idea of a return to the Island

elessimoParticipantI have to say that bike looks lovely and suits you well, good luck with the 2016 model. Really look forward to seeing it!
Great review too and good to see you posting again after the photobucket fiasco!
Thanks Radar, the bike is fun. Had to open up a new Photobucket account as my old one is full up (four times as many free images in it as I'm allowed ).
Must arrange a meeting in May….
elessimoParticipantDid you see Nathan Millward there? He was doing a group ride out to that dealer – really likes the brisket burger from the big truck, apparently
elessimoParticipantGreat pictures, that rear tyre is a tad on the aggressive side!!
it came with the bike
It's a bit bobbly on tarmac at low speed, but stops any tendency to aquaplane….I will have to blag a go and see what you mean!
Any time – you'll get hooked
I think you are right, however one of old mates broke his ankle last weekend whilst out on his dirt bike up a local(ish) track…no pain no gain I suppose!
Ouch! Did some mountain biking in the Forest today – very wet and slippery. Ache all over now, but at least no breaks. Good training for the DR….
