Just back from a 5 day / 4 night trip to the Somme area.

Very sobering place to visit but the roads and weather were great.

    A few pics.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay for a few days then google Orchard Farm Somme.

    Fab place and great food.

    Looks like decent weather too.

You were definitely there at the right time. For those who didn’t know, it’s the 70th anniversary tomorrow of the D-Day landings. There really are not many veterans around now, those who are left are in their eighties or higher, many unable to attend the ceremonies.

The Somme was the scene of some of the fiercest fighting in WW1, I hope to go in the next couple of years to visit the area and pay my respects.

    Cheers for posting the pictures

I’m thinking of a Normandy jaunt next year, with Verla’s brother-in-law. Do you think my German bike and his Jap bike will be ignored? Or is trouble brewing?
