Byrne won the British Superbike crown in 2003
Former British Superbike champion Shane Byrne says he can make a winning return to the series at Brands Hatch.
“It’s my home circuit and I’ll be giving it my all on Sunday,” said the Kent rider who had an ill-fated stint in MotoGP last season.

Byrne and new team-mate James Haydon will be racing the all-new Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 for the first time.

“I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into the British Superbike Championship,” he said.

Byrne added: ” “I won my first ever road race at Brands Hatch Indy and that’s where my career started. It’s a fantastic spectator circuit.

“I remember from racing there previously in BSB it all gets a bit hectic with lapped ridersand fighting your way through them, which can be exciting.”
