From memory the area does seem to be much more tourist orientated, as in, famous name shops present in many locations, but having said that don’t most towns have the self same outlets where ever you go in the country.
Climbed Scafell Pike with Denise for the very first time having not been to the lakes since the mid eighties. Heavy frost at the summit but it was a brilliant clear day and fantastic 360 degree views!!
