Good luck and don’t breathe in any of the fumes!

i always use a normal electric blade iron that way you can push plastic down into the crack [:0]

you can plastic weld with a soldering iron and cable ties if you have all the bits but doubt you’d be able to use the same method to fill any holes

As we are spread far and wide, it is difficult to come up with any suggestions that would satisfy everybody, so may I put my suggestion forward…. yes it is Wales and mainly North Wales at that, so as good as everyone has to travel to get there, and with a finishing point in Mid Wales everyone has to travel to get back! My suggestion is as follows:

Start Point…. The Ponderosa Cafe at Horseshoe Pass. Thats 37 miles from Liverpool and 81 miles from Birmingham.
Finish point …. McDonalds at Newtown, Powys. Which is 79 miles from Liverpool and 71 miles from Birmingham.

Note: There are no re-fuelling facilities at the Horseshoe pass

The route between the 2 points being 105 miles of A roads with some absolutely amazing scenery is as follows:

From The Horseshoe Pass head North along the A542 to the roundabout (trip 3) turn left onto the A5104.
Travel from that island down the twisty roads to the A5 (trip 12) where you turn right.
Approaching Betws y Coed turn off the A5 sharp left onto the A470 (trip 33).
From that turn continue along the A470 through dramatic wide open scenery through the Snowdonia National Park into Blaenauu Ffestiniog where you drop down through possibly the most exploited landscape in the country (trip 44) where you turn left through the town and down into Ffestiniog (trip 47).
At Ffestiniog turn sharp left still on the A470, from that point you continue along the A470 turning left through Trawsfynydd along what is possibly one of the straightist bits of road around these parts again with a dramatic mountainous scene to the right and along the A470 by-passing Dolgellau where you rise up before dramatically dropping down Dinas Mawddwy.
At an island turn right (trip 76) continuing along the A470 towards Cemmaes Road, where you turn left (trip 82)through Carno and Caersws where you turn left (trip 100) towards Newtown along the A489 where you arrive at the destination (trip 105).

Now these roads maybe well-trodden by some, like myself, but unknown by many. There are many other routes around this area but taking those would no doubt be difficult to keep a bunch of riders together.

As for a date I’m pretty open BUT Gix mentioned Sunday 13th July as an alternative date for Bretts Ride Out and I dont remember much objection to that date. But should that date be a non starter due to bad weather an alternative could be the following week on Sunday 20th July.

Does my suggestion have any takers [?]

we have a few things going on in july now so probably wouldnt be able to do that month we might be able to do early august if france isnt acceptable

Sid’s French trip also sounds good, would that be ferry or tunnel?

we’re booked on a late night ferry for our hol’s but dover-calais ferry or train are about the same price
alternatively portsmouth to le havre or caen or even cherbourg put you within 100 miles of our place and last time i went that way it was comparative in price to dover but i would recommend the overnighter from there so you get a good early morning blatt down to us

is it still in need of a VIC check (very strict MOT) before going on the road or does it come repaired and with a pass certificate
