I wonder what would be the case if you tubed your bike to be above the power threshold and took a dyno readout of your bike to the test centre?
At guess they will only allow to take the bike on an homologated bike with an official approved power output. Interesting point though

I know that last bit was really amazing, fair play to her
RadarModeratorGreat pictures, that rear tyre is a tad on the aggressive side!!
RadarModeratorBlimey that Beta looks a lot of fun, I was trying to work out how many bikes you have owned since being a member on here over the last decade and a bit
Triumph x2
Duke x2
KTM x 4
Husky
Guzzi
GSXR
God knows!November 13, 2018 at 9:50 pm in reply to: ARC VECTOR IS THE WORLD’S MOST ADVANCED ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE (Jaguar Land Rover) #70199RadarModeratorI wonder how many more miles the bike would be capable of if it didn't try to calculate how many sheets of toilet paper you need to use?
But that could be useful when you run out of power (literally) half way through an overtake!
RadarModeratorIt is pretty, but also pretty scary on a bike this time of year, I prefer winter to autumn, always seems safer
I know what you mean, you do have to ride on 'tip-toes' and the low sun is a b@st@rd too
RadarModeratorgood to see it has been used properly!
It is, I bet this one was getting a big clean up once it was home!
RadarModeratorSo like most bikes, it has some good and some bad… I’d def look at re-bleeding the braking system though!
Very true Pete, but those brakes had been bled repeatedly by a BMW dealer and signed off as fine!
RadarModeratorWell finally after much research and trying a wide variety of machines the decision is in…..
Lets go for a bit of build up here….
In 3rd….The KTM 1090…an honourable showing, but a new model with loads of new goodies is in the offing, also that nagging doubt that it isn’t quite the ‘full fat’ KTM….a bit like buying a one of those 4 pot Ford Mustangs you can get now rather than the 5.0 V8!
In 2nd…Yamaha Tracer 900GT…Perhaps the sensible choice, a cracking bike but perhaps too much the sensible option?
So….
The winner is….Over to Stu himself for this bit…
So, my procrastination was solved by BMW, the issue that prompted me to review the GS was not solved by the supplying dealer or another BMW dealer, so rather than throwing another big chunk of money at BMW in the hope that it would be eventually solved I though sod it…let it go and more on….
There was much discussion about Tracer vs KTM but in the end I took the most ridiculous option and went for the full fat 1290 Adventure
And the winner is…I already know I don’t really need the semi active suspension and the 160bhp is going to be wasted on me during 25 mile commute, but as some naughty individual whispered in my ear “the opportunity is there, the money is there, dealers around the corner and it cant have any worse reliability issues…go for it” …so I did
Initial impressions…its tall, its orange, its light, TFT screen is lovely. Riding it from the dealers on a wet and rainy Monday wasn’t fun….shiny tyres, a string of wet diesel soaked roundabouts saw me riding very upright. Drier days later in the week gave me a chance to rub the mirror finish off the tyres but I have a self imposed redline of 5k until I reach 650 mile 1st service…which is just about ok for slow commuting. There have been a couple of occasions when I’d had it compromise this limit….OMG, this thing is like a ballistic missile….massive torque, good grip and a deep V-twin exhaust note that induces a maniacal grin that is hard to dispel
I am trying to find excuses to ride the bike to get to the 1st service so I can enjoy the power in the dry autumn days before the winter sets in and I go back to riding in an upright fashion.
Lets hope it proves reliable and I don’t regret not buying the sensible Tracer.
RadarModeratorThat invisible selfie stick feature is bloody clever, it looks like you are being followed by a drone!
RadarModeratorLooks like an awesome ride out mate
It really was a good way to sign off the MV for the year

Always fascinated me to be honest

That’s quite a comment from somebody more used to Submarines!

It does a bit, I have seen a Yamaha 535 on barge during a TV show about the waterways, but he actually sacrificed accommodation space for it
