Looks ok in both pictures and it is certainly YELLOW!
RadarModeratorI found myself myself thinking about this mad day out back in 1990 so I thought I would re-fresh the links to the pics and give it a bump
RadarModeratorMay have to come indoors if I don’t sell the Guzzi soon!
I have not given up hope of at least looking the Guzzi. Need to sell the Duke really, but i love it too!
RadarModeratorJust showed my better half that post…she wasn’t impressed!
Funny…I hinted to the Mrs about using the conservatory to work on my bikes…that went well
RadarModeratorAfter months of trying to locate my old R1 on the small ads I had virtually given up hope. However on Friday night while trawling through eBay I spotted my old Thunderace, the bike I part ex’ for the R1 a few years ago.
So, being the sentimental type, I made the seller an offer and the Flying Banana is now mine again!
She needs a bit of tlc to get her back to the way I had her, but I do love a challenge!
Will post pics after I pick her up on Saturday.
My brother in law loved his Thunderace so much he kept it in his house
RadarModeratorNice nostalgia trip, I had plastic models of the 750-4, H1, Z1 as a kid, but was old enough to ride bikes in the later 70’s.
By then for me the only superbikes I wanted came from Italy – why doesn’t this film mention any of them. 900SS, Jota, Mk1 LeMans, those were the bikes I dreamt of.Interesting point. I have always liked Italian bikes, but didn’t own one until 2013 when I bought my Duke
RadarModeratorDon’t want anything that puts weight on the wrists. Naked with a small fly screen is what I’m after.
That would suit you best as you say. I use my 550 Kwack for that sort of riding
RadarModeratorHi Radar, I would love a CBX, i never hold it up though lol, would have to have a chauffer
My 400/4, the story continues:
Well the electronic ignition has been fitted and doesn’t it make a difference so really pleased I went with that, but there has still been a few running issues.
Last Saturday I had half a day off work and went up to see Jaimo with my new Float Valve needles. He took the carbs off the bike and together we put in the new valves, yes I actually got my hands dirty lol, I really enjoyed it and now know how the carbs work. On removing the old float valves they were full of crap, one being totally blocked, with paint and rust out of the tank.
I brought the tank home and I managed to clean out the tank and took it back on Tuesday night. I did it with petrol and nuts and bolts in the tank and swilled it out 5 times. The tank was put back on the bike and after letting the petrol settle, we started her up, first time the choke has worked properly, she sounded lovely firing on all four cylinders. The only problem was No 2 carb was leaking a bit of petrol from the overflow pipe again. Jaimo is waiting for a good dry day to take her out and see how she goes, so hopefully she will be ok to come home soon.
I’m really enjoying getting hands on with my bike, need to invest in a boiler suit now lol.
Glad to see you are making progress, even if there are a few snags here and there to sort out! Look forward to seeing the bike when the spring/summer gets started.
A bit bloody cold for me at the moment!
RadarModeratorI’m looking for something to use as a bit of a summer work bike… Fazed CBF etc
I have a Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat, but I don’t want to part with that. Had it since 2000.
If I sell the Duke privately and you have not sold the Guzzi by then I will give you shout.
RadarModeratorI’m guessing that’s not cheaper?
Around the same price roughly at a guess
RadarModeratorHappy to take cheaper part ex depending on what it is
It is a 2008 Ducati S2R1000 Monster
RadarModeratorTook the S10 out of garage today for the first time since November 1st.
I didn’t wash it after last ride and there was mould growing on the hand guards and headlight cover!
Will remember to wash thoroughly next time!
Mould. blimey!
RadarModeratorFantastic video brought back lots of memories, I can smell the 2-stroke now Castrol r love it and at the end my favourite the CBX thanks for sharing )
No problem, glad you enjoyed it. I got to ride a CBX back in 1984…lovely beast of a bike.
How is the 400/4 coming on?
RadarModeratorI must be strong…
Offers invited!
I already have two Italian bikes! But I have never owned a Guzzi….
Well I’m in no hurry to sell…..so if you want to view anytime just say. I know I’m biased but you won’t find better for the money.
If I decide to sell my Ducati I might well be interested, but I don’t want to be a tyre kicker!
