unfortunately no one appeared to want it as a whole bike until after i’d had requests for parts
i’ve advertised it two or three times as a complete bike and there’s been no interest ..
i’m sick to be breaking it as i built it out of three dead bikes, all the best bits used, everything cleaned, stripped and resprayed properly (no rattle cans)took me six months of collecting, cleaning and painting to put her on the road ..
i’ve got the frame and a few other bits going this weekend, the exhaust and front wheel will be going to the Isle of Wight and i’ve just had an enquiry for the engine, the carbs and manifolds may be going to America or Germany…
that’ll leave me with a few delicate parts to store carefully ..
oh well, i had fun with her and still have pictures i just can’t justify her sitting in the garage any longer (9 ish bikes) too many toys and projects needing looking after
N1teMareParticipantthis type of build has been around for years, i’ve seen pictures of various builds using almost complete bikes all over the place, most frequently appear to be built in America…
here’s a couple that i found from a Goldwing site that i’m a member of ….
Shep’s reverse trike, unfortunately i can’t find any photo’s of it finished (i have seen them), his own site is now gone as he passed away a year or two ago, this thing has a timber (plywood construction) bonded and bolted to steel from memory, most of a GL1100 bolted into the rear bodywork and a homebuilt/designed electric reverse …
sideview..
an interesting VW shelled reverse trike Goldwing powered..
sideview..
and the only picture i can find of this one (no info at all)…
N1teMareParticipanta TL motor might be a little awkward to put in a regular chop frame, most frames are built for inline fours or modified standard frames…
i’ve no idea of the dimensions of the TL motor but i’ll bet it’ll be an interesting struggle unless you build the frame yourself (pay to have built) around your own motor…
as to knowing where a chassis might be i’m no immediate help but i’ll keep my eyes open
p.s.
you could always try 100%biker or britchopper to see what pops up on there or enquireN1teMareParticipantif i recall correctly that trike can be put on a dyno …
it’s road use powerplant is a Rover V8 i think…
although the jet engine is fully functional []
i think i first saw that bike 3 years ago, not sure if it was on telly or the web tho
N1teMareParticipanti’ve never ridden a bike equipped with this engine although i have 2x 1127 powered bikes which are fun, not gonna worry too much about brakes, i’ll get bigger boots []
anyway there’s been a little progress (minimal), made up the hangers for the silencers, just need to sort out linkpipes now ..
sideview..
and as can be seen they need a final tweak to clear the wheel spindle

Originally posted by imperialdataNice one Nitemare, good to see ‘Alice’ is still coming along well.
yea pleased that i’m still getting there meself, unfortunately other stuff and lack of parts/money sometimes interupt the flow as well
ok pictures time
downpipes welded up and the lower bends are now all nice and level
another angle showing the line following the frame (and my cheap K+N’s)
one silencer tied on to give me an idea of how it will look (needs 4 to 6″ chopping off)
gotta make the hangers so i can mount the cans then it’ll be time to start looking for linkpipe material
N1teMareParticipanttime for a little update (no pics at the moment)…
been a quiet couple of weeks due to hunting for parts but i’ve just struck lucky and bought 4 aluminium cans, 50mm slip-ons (1 pair of Art round cans and 1 pair of no-name ovals) for £60, gotta get straps for the ovals and make a pair of hangers as they’re going on “Alice” (yes, she has a name now )…
my angle grinder came back out to play today and touched the down pipes again, i cut the collectors off completely so that i could flip them over as i wanted the exits closer to the frame rails (better looking line slightly), i then shortened the centre two pipes by cutting just below the weld on the verticals and grinding it back ….
now all four pipes are level/flat below the engine along with the collectors being flat instead of the Vee they originally sat when looked at from the front (much tidier looking )…
dug my stainless wire out and fired the mig welder up and tacked it all in place then removed it from the bike and welded it all up nice and tight….
gotta see a buddy for the straps then start on making the hangers and mounting points in readiness for sorting the link pipes, there will be more progress this week along with photos, patience will be rewarded
N1teMareParticipantlooking at the amount of crap you’ve stuffed in there you might as well get a Merc Sprinter (lwb Hi-top) and do the job properly …
you could look at fitting luggage compartments under the body either side of the chassis to carry fuel/water/tools, mebbe a genny and oddments, run an awning on the side for trackside maintenance or the nighttime bbq …
or if you wanna go really big go for a coach conversion, used to know a guy that was into Stockcar racing that used a coach, opened the back up into two doors and ramped his Stockcar into the rear, carried tools and spares in there and still had enough room for sleeping and cooking with the rest of his family in there…
but that’d probably be a little overkill
N1teMareParticipantok sorted the flats on my extensions, unfortunately that pulled the downpipes etc far enough forward for the linkpipe to hit my footrest hanger and interfere with the rear brake master cyl’ linkage…
so out with the angle grinder again
and mounted
another angle (note the mismatch, not yet welded)
and it’s raining so there’ll be no welding today
N1teMareParticipanthere’s the next bits i’m playing with ..
GSXR1100 watercooled exhaust about to meet mr angle grinder
lots of bits fell off
both outer downpipes removed along with all the bracketry
who says the watercooled exhaust won’t fit
the distance between the centre pipes is close enough but the outer two had to be chopped as i couldn’t spread them wide enough (15 – 20mm extra needed)…
i can’t start tacking them together until i can bolt them on with the extensions which need flats milling to clear the bolt holes (just a couple of mm for each bolt) i could file them but i’m enjoying using the power tools that i’ve been let loose on
link pipe may yet get chopped off, might chop it all off just after the first two collectors to give me the four into two set up i originally planned (dunno for sure yet)
N1teMareParticipantok my latest bits that i’ve started making …
take one block of aluminium and start turning ..
exhaust port extensions (2 made 2 required)
i’ve actually made 1 more since these photo’s, i now need to dig out another lump of aluminium

don’t be feeling too safe, that’ll generate complacency and not matter how good your helmet is …
keep using the stuff inside it []
N1teMareParticipanti bought my pair off ebay from these folks (£38 delivered)
now we need to know which bike it/they are going to be for as mine are no use on single side swingarm bikes …
folks could recommend abba stands (very good items and would be nice for my sports bike) but they are a tad pricey but again may not be the correct one for your/his bike
more info needed
N1teMareParticipantcrappy pictures time
first two are of my electrics mounted on the battery box, shiney bracket is the adaptor i had to make but everything bolted tidily to the original threads on the box
bottom
side view
next three are of the seat base i’ve been bashing into shape (just might brace it along the length, i know the preformed metal i want for that)
original scrap pan beside the one i’m making (not a lot left of it )
top side (foam side)
underside and all brackets attached
that’s all for today folks []
N1teMareParticipantthe weather hasn’t stopped me, been to the Kyzers Kustom meet twice and it rained both times (second time all the way there and back), been to Harlech and back (of course it rained in Wales)…
nothing short of a monsoon stops me if i really want a ride out []
