lucky rookieParticipantHello again
I’ve changed the title of my Rd 125lc to this as I have found the more I work on her the more I find the good is not good enough and only perfection is good enough.
Things are moving forward I am rebuilding the front forks as we speak this will be the second time as when I rebuilt the forks the first time I couldn’t leave them alone as they just didn’t look right so I will post a step by step picture story on the restorelucky rookieParticipantStripping shock absorber to get centre re zinc plated and spring repainted one done ill post picture
lucky rookieParticipanti still do not know why photobucket puts it in upside down.
But here is the frame and it looks spankinglucky rookieParticipantlucky rookieParticipantIt sounds a long time but I want to bring it out on my birthday next year in April I think it’s an achievable target ….even if its ready before I will wait
lucky rookieParticipantGloss black …of course it should of been back today but looks like it will be tomorrow now
lucky rookieParticipantThe frame should be arriving today …….excited
lucky rookieParticipantBelly pan arrived today …..very nice
lucky rookieParticipantNo katana it’s on points my dad is too tight to put electronic ignition I’m trying to talk him in to it ……I think they only do 40mph flat out …but I do know a bloke who races bantams and gets nearly 90mph out of it
lucky rookieParticipantOff a little from my own project here is a picture of my dads bsa bantam d3 engine that I have just finished restoring

lucky rookieParticipantI remember when I had saved enough money to have a frame powder coated it cost £46 2 weeks wages the bike was an rd125dx and the frame was powder coated flame red at a local company called Heeley brothers.
When I walked into the shop to pick it up I couldn’t believe it it was like brand new well worth 2 weeks wageslucky rookieParticipantFrames gone for powder coating should be back Tuesday next week will post pics when it arrives
lucky rookieParticipantSorry the pics arent brill but i think you can still see the improvement
