I thought that you wouldnt be the only one with this problem.. turns out theres a few people with this trouble when fitting aftermarket cans…

GSF K1ParticipantUnfortunately I havent seen a wiring diagram of the servo.. so I’m not even sure if this is possible… knowing that the FI warning light shows if the servo moves the wrong amount let alone continuous (cos I put my blanking plate on the wrong way round), it makes me think theres some electronics gizmos that “talk” to the black box.. its all high tech these days!!

When you disconnected the cabling from the exhaust valve servo, you should have a blanking plate which you fit onto the servo.. it fools the unit into thinking that its connected to the valve.
When you turn your ignition on, the servo swings from full deflection clockwise to full deflection counter-clockwise (or the other way..??).. and it knows roughly how far that movement should be for a perfectly healthy valve (ie not stuck).. YOURS will just keep going round as theres nothing to stop it.. hence the brains thinks theres something broken in the exhaust valve and flashes the FI light.
You should have a blanking plate of some form to put on it.. Akropovic provide one in their kit.hope that helps.

GSF K1ParticipantYeh.. first thing I did was stripped the forks and renewed the oil (15w grade), and tweeked the rear shock. Its not hard by any means, but its much better. Its just soo easy to ride its fun!
