A few months ago now I went to the excellent Shuttleworth Collection for their annual ‘Wings and Wheels’ event…vintage aircraft, cars bikes and planes…suffice it to say I was a happy boy!

I meant to post pictures at the time, but forgot…

So here they are…better late than never I suppose!

    02%20Ducati_zpsx2ugpodr.jpg
Even the bike-park contained some real beauties, such as this single cylinder Ducati

    03.%20Velocette_zpshib9y9yo.jpg
Happy man on Velocette, shame about the modern crash helmet

    04%20BSA%20Combo_zpsh7pu25n8.jpg
    05%20BSA%20Military_zpstkzmuncw.jpg
The chaps on these BSA machines had the right idea for headgear…

    06%20RAC%20Combo_zpsnozfirwv.jpg
    Norton to the rescue

    07%20Vincent_zpsnm9qsuxf.jpg
    Got to love a Vincent

    08b%20Moto%20Guzzi_zpsczqz9m6s.jpg
Andy (aka ‘Thumper’) was smitten with this Guzzi as was I

    09%20Wicker%20combo_zps6ysjpjxe.jpg
Who needs carbon fibre when you have wicker?

    14%20Dodge_zpsozcamggh.jpg
Lots of military kit in evidence too like this Dodge of WW2 vintage

    17%20Demon_zpsgzft5jf5.jpg
One of several lovely inter-war years bi-planes that put up a spirited display..this is a Hawker Demon

    20%20Flypast_zps5nhms4kd.jpg
My aerial photography is not the best….

    18%20Riley_zpsrg9rjgjc.jpg
Amongst the rows of lovely classic cars this Riley caught my eye

    19%20Catalina_zpsaio8ksmu.jpg
    The Consolidated PBY-A Catalina

    16%20Hurricane_zpsyf59wpb7.jpg
The hangers housed some fabulous aircraft, not least this immaculate Hawker Hurricane

    13%20Leyland_zpsgfmomzov.jpg
We rode around the grounds in this charming old bus

    12%20Scooter_zpstbl3ltwn.jpg
Bike to bikes, well just about…looks fun though!

    11%20Premier_zpsarnhcmf4.jpg
Very stately stance encouraged when riding this Premier no doubt

    10%20BSA%20RAF_zps5yidcmzg.jpg
Simple but somehow appealing wartime BSA in RAF livery…just the thing for getting to one’s Hurricane in a bit of a dash!

Another place well worth a visit!

Nice pics, the Vincent looks the business. What size engine was that Ducati single?

    Cheers.

I think the Ducati was a 450cc, but there a few different sizes of single offed by them over the years
