Any ideas how to reg a second hand bike with no paperwork that has never been on the road? ty
June 12, 2012 at 10:43 pm #63834slimParticipantBeen a while since ive done this but from memory i had to get a dating certificate from an owners club, then have the bike looked over at the local dvla centre who simply checked it was what i said on the application (numbers etc) then had to show valid insurance & have the tax money to hand there & then, think i’d already mot’d the bike on the frame number the v5 & tax was sent out within a couple of weeks
As i said its been a while so check with your local dvla or vosa office to be sure, they were very helpfull in my case (stock grey import) but expect hassle if its not stock cos they wont know what theyre looking at & may ask for an sva

A couple of friends of mine and myself are after some 125s to do some silly stuff with but they have to be road legal…. its in the rules you know! lol so am looking at options for getting a trials bike road reg’d

not a clue on that one i’m afraid well out of my area of operations so all i can suggest is to contact VOSA & ask them, they have always been very helpful in the past.July 18, 2012 at 3:30 pm #63839PaulJCParticipantPete, i remember there being something about seat height as part of the check but really cant remember, i did have a full on guide somewhere which i think i originally ‘borrowed’ off the KTM forum
